My reality warping feathered serpent muse

Haven't drawn them in a while, but they haven't been forgotten

I remember seeing them before.Β It'd be interesting to learn their story. The reality warping part is intriguing

Not much of a story behind them. They were initially a jewelery wearing snake that appeared in a dream way back...Β

So, they aren't really a character thats part of a universe or setting, they are just a loose character, and I guess I've seen them as a muse or a representation of either creativity or good feelings

I'm actually a bit envious of people who can get new creature ideas from dreams. My dreams have always been remarkably useless in this respect.

So, do they have any interesting abilities?

Ha, I can imagine. I hardly remember any dreams nowadays

As a spirit they can appear, disappear and phase through objects at will. Despite being a pretty powerful character, they have mostly adopted a "non-interference" stance towards the world

Indeed, they would probably be out of place in your sci-fi setting.

I suppose due to thisΒ non-interference stance they don't often interact with people?

They absolutely love interacting with people... They can be kind of loose when it comes to minor things. Personality wise, they're an energetic positive character

Now I'm curious what kind of world they could be part of. And how common it is for the inhabitants of this world to encounter a friendly feathered serpent spirit.

I kinda imagine it as a microcosm of the 'real' setting, set on a single planet where technology has advanced, but noone can leave the planet due to kill satellites in orbit.

The other major difference being more fantasy elements (I figure they'd exist to some extent in the real setting) While specifically bumping into Quetz might be rare, there are other elementals around too... like the Salt Water, the sea monster (also likes idle chit chat, though her large size probably intimidates most people) and Bennu, a less social Heron based phoenix.

A fantasy world with killer satellites in orbit β€” that's unusual.
What does the planet's population look like, besides elementals? Are they humans, or some other species, or multiple species? Are the satellites created by them or by someone else? And... what if some elemental decides to leave the planet? Quetz doesn't exactly look like they can be stopped by whatever weapons conventional science can devise

Well the same species as from the base story are present. I doubt Quetz would be stopped, but most elementals would have trouble surviving that kind of fire power. I figure the Alien Faction made the satellites... mostly to keep something out

But then how did all these people of different species got on the planet in the first place? I mean, if it was an established colony, and then Alien Faction appeared and began placing satellites, that would've probably caused some responce from the inhabitants' homeworlds, and the blockade wouldn't have lasted for long... Or was there some reason that prevented factions like URW from interference?

Well its the less logical comic verse, but i guess if anything, the system might have been isolated/cut-off somehow

communication infrastructure and jump-gate loss perhaps

Right, I tend to forget that interstellar FTL travel in your universe is made possible by jump gates; the explanation actually seems reasonable enough for me.

Especially if its an Alsiant Incursion, I can see the alien faction striking the jump gates to try and isolate it...

Also, I love these questions, because they help me form things out a bit better

ChatlaninKyr In reply to CrossDevice [2017-12-17 08:57:25 +0000 UTC]

That, again, seems like a good reason, but I guess you'll have to specify why the planet wasn't affected by Alsiants in this case.

Well, I like to learn more about others' fictional universes, and usually comment only when I have something to ask, so you can expect more questions from me in the future

The kill satellites... but then the question becomes why this planet would be important to the aliens.

Maybe with so many factions stuck on the planet, they wanted to see how they would interact?

Speaking of which, due to the recent events, I cannot find the power-cable for my scanner, and so I dont know when I'll be uploading stuff again
