Nice! love the wings, i have such trouble with feather wings. I actually recently did a similar one in soft pastel as a present for a friend and got the idea from a tattoo I saw. But i love it in pencil, looks amazing!

yeah wings are really hard to draw with all the details and all..haha i tried drawing once but i scrapped it >< maybe next time though

I really like the attention to details of the wings, very nice work. But as others have said, the proportions of the legs are a little off o-o;

The detail on the wings is just beautiful. I feel the sadness that this piece transmits. Maybe the legs are a bit short in comparison ti the torso, which I find to be in good proportions within the relation that it holds with the wings. The piece is just beautiful, and I think if you just fixed a bit more the legs, it would just be stunning!!

Now that you mention it he does have a bit of chicken legs... damn, good eye, I really appreciate your criticism. I don't think I am going to go back and fix it. Although, I will think more about my proportions before finishing future pieces

A really expressive and interesting work! I like the black and white contrast and the details in the wings.
I also love that you can't see his face, so it could be anyone, even yourself.

I'm glad you pointed that out because I went to great lengths to really make that black n white contrast stand out. I really wanted to make the transition from light to dark very evident.

it gets too smooth and all the contures vanish...

this contrast and such clear lines, because I'm always somehow smearing it.

I think I know what you're talking about. Hopefully this response helps you out, if not... I'm sorry lol. I always had a difficulty with contrast in the past. I used to overshadow a lot of things so now I realized its okay to leave some spots very white. Then the parts that are dark I try to darken more than before so I can show the big difference in contrast. I also lay down paper under my palm so I don't smear anything, and I use tortillon to get some precise blending. A white gelly roll pen is often used by a lot of artists as well.
