In her universe Peni Parker was kidnapped by AIMBrella by M.O.D.O.K. and was submitted to probing and examinations. Peni was rescued by Captain America, but they didn’t knew that the HYDRA compromised SHIELD alongside AIMBrella and The Connections got a hold of her DNA mixing it with the genes of Eveline and another SHIELD Agent called Luis Miyabi . The result was a more stable version of the E-001 Type weapon. After Luis Miyabi and Peni Parker rescue her from Mitch Carson during the events known as the Guadalupe Panic, they adopted the child and placed a metabolic inhibitor that made her mold unable to sustain itself for more than two hours (She uses her mold as webbing). When they adopted her, Peni asked Luis if he agreed for the name May instead of Mary. Luis knew all about her loss (Her aunt May getting absorbed by the Venom) and agreed.
