Description
My first Cloud pic - yay!Tried out many filters of texture to get the individual look of every fabric - the west however was more a copy and paste of small pieces of this ribbed material.
You sure recognize some parts of his clothing but I didn't want to stick only to his original uniform - the sword is slightly different as well.
The background is a shot from the video game Chaos Legion.

Thanks so much. Yeah I tried out some filters to make it look more real though that's why his skin doesn't fit in as smooth as usual. Well still have to practice.

I'm an OT4 fan, what can I say! I mean, I mean, it's just so PERFECT and and... *pout* Hush, or I won't continue my comment. *glares*

That's what I thought.
First off - The hair, the HAIR. *wibbles happily* It's the HAIR.
*glares again*
I said SHUSH.
*sighs* Actually, I could sit here and wibble happily about all of it, but that's not what I'm here for! ... Ok, yes it is, but you've got others to that for you too, and I'm not afraid to point out issues - I love the chest, it's all pet worthy, but unfortunantly the soft hazy look doesn't work with the rest of the picture. Everything else is so sharp and clean cut, that exspecially his- pffft, what are they called? Pecs? Upper chest? Man-boobs? Whatever, you get what I mean - need to be more distinct. Not bigger, just more defined lines. I think the abs would be fine, but as it is, you have fade in the background, sharp for the character, but fade again for his core, and it makes the rest of the picture a bit unstable, ya know?
Now that I've said my piece, I'm going by to sighing and smiling at the prettiness, imagining the wonderful smut that's taking place in and around this idea. *nods*

I know the feeling. Whenever I write, I always appreciate it when someone can give me a few pointers, but there's a total difference between 'Even a second grader would know how to spell THAT! *scoff*' and 'This is an awkward sentence, maybe try rephrasing it like...'

okay so I tried to fix his stomach part as well as his face - it is a greater change than I thought and I hope it is for the better??
I do like it a lot more but I wonder if I now maybe messed up something else?

it is muuuuuch better. Still a wee bit softer than everything else, but I'm only noticing because I know it look. Most certainly doesn't stand out like ti did before. *claps happily*
As for other things - I'm no good with shadows, so you can just tell me to stfu, but it seems odd that the light hitting the black leather reflects brighter than on his arm? I mean, I realize there's kinda a light cut across the bottom of the background you were following, but if the reflection's so bright, wouldn't it lighten the underside of his arm too, even if just from indirect reflection?
Once again, I could be totally wrong, but I figured mentioning it would hurt. XD

Ah good to hear the change was for the better. Well skin is always tricky and there is no texture for it I could lay above so it wouldn't look so smooth anymore. Sometimes it looks just right sometimes it is only close to it...
Not sure what you mean about the lightning though. What I did mess up is his scarf there is a light also on the right side which makes no sense and the left part of his chest there should be more shadow reflecting from his clothes - tried that however though then his chest didn't look so good anymore - so I kept it that way.
Could it be that you're talking about the "light" in the background left to his skirt that would cause a reflections on the underside of his arm? That's supposed to be fog 
The light itself is only coming from the left top.
Gosh it's really good to discuss this out with you - haven't spent so much attention to some of the basics in drawing for a long time.

I don't know if you've ever seen the movie 'Bull Durham' or not but there's a line in it that fits here, "Oh my."
What leads up to that line is that Susan Sarandon and Kevin Costners characters are talking and he say's that he believes in 'long slow wet kisses that last for 3 days.' Her response is 'Oh my.'
That's why I think it fits here, that and I would love to give Cloud a long slow wet kiss that last for more then three days.
Don't tell Seifer and Squall.
