Description
So I guess I've got a mini-feature thing this next month at ! Well, awesome. XD Thank you all so much.I rarely do memes, because I take forever to draw anything, and I'm epically lazy, so this was a first for me. I had a lot of fun with some of these panels, though.
1. I'm Crownflame. I have bison horns, cuz I'm a Kansas Viking. XD I wouldn't choose a Gronckle, but I'm the type of person who would end up with one anyway. There's two, because I got two plush Gronckles for my birthday last year (both from different groups of people). They've grown on me.
2. I'm completely baffled. I'M LAZY AND ANTISOCIAL WHAT THE HECK. You guys are unbelievably sweet, though.
3. Hiccup and Toothless. XD It's a boring answer, so I drew a scene from the book "How to Break a Dragon's Heart", where Hiccup, in true Fiendishly Clever fashion, is screwing up Alvin's nefarious plans again by showing up alive again somewhere he's not supposed to be.
I need to draw more book stuff.
4. YOU WON'T LIKE HER WHEN SHE'S ANGRY.
I seriously spent forever on that. It was incredibly fun.
5. I like "See You Tomorrow" probably the best, but the one that gets my heart all aflutter is "New Tail". It's the most dynamic for me; the high points and low points- the heroic resolve at the beginning and the explosion of joy at the end.
Plus I've always wanted to draw something like that. XD
6. I love how How To Train Your Dragon is great children's media, and yet has layers and layers of depth otherwise. I can easily say that the books definitely got me through some tough times in my life, and the movie dragged me out of the worst artistic depression of my life so far. There's just so many ways to look at it.
And the movie is just so... perfect. I mean, the way it's constructed. The way everything at the beginning sort of reverses at the end; all the recurring lines and *drools* visual symbolism.
7. Everyone here is so freaking friendly! I remember when I first joined and posted, I got the verbal equivalent of a barrage of hugs, and all I had done was submit stuff to incorrect categories. XD
8. *yamilink 's Ireth and Vespera. I don't really follow all the OCs floating around the fandom, but these really are appealing designs. Ireth reminds me a lot of my old obsession, Zelda.
9. This one's pretty self explanatory. I like all that junk, and also drawing people getting swallowed by stuff, usually humorously. I'm a special snowflake that way. I do most of that odd stuff as ~Cheesefritters .
10. Hiccup being forced to eat raw fish. Nothing new here.
That'd be it.
Thanks so much to and company for featuring me.

this is awesome. August is only the second time both artists have done the meme's I think the other time was Like May. But congrats, and you DID deserve it, in fact your name has been coming up (as well as Yamilink's) the past two times when admins get together for choosing features so you have been a part of the feature queue for awhile.
Lol and your art is teh cool! We love variety and just because we get tons of Ocs and romance art submitted doesn't mean everyone likes it, it means everyone likes drawing it

What, seriously? That "draw the other person giftart" question definitely encourages both people to do it. XD Though I guess it is a bit of a time dedication. Mid-summer is a good time for this stuff. XD
That's pretty crazy to hear. XD
How'd ya'll get to be so awesome? XD
Stay fabulous.

Yeah, some people just didn't do it. It's optional though but only feature artists get to do it so it has this...uniqueness about it. Basically, keep it out of the reach of the masses and more people will strive to get it, in theory anyway
No, YOU stay fabulous

XD Thanks!
Yeah, I had no idea I was going to get one until after the contest. Pretty cool. XD
Don't worry about fanart. That's like fanart of fanart, and that's just silly. XP

Congratulations, and you deserve it! You're from Kansas- a midwestener, too! (I am from Missouri)
Nice meme- I just love your humor and your styles to this. It was so fun to peruse. Nice you also brought in book love, too. I like how you see the deeper side to the book and the movie. And, yea, for seeing how things come full circle/reverse at the end of the movie.
Great meme, and congratulations!!!!
PS- I happen to be a big fan of Gronkles, so I don't think it's be bad having a pairing with one. The fanfic of mine you so kindly supported has a soft spot for Gronkles including Fishlegs' Gronkle who "thought speaks" with a Richard Burton "voice"

Oh, you're funny. XD I've only submitted like three things or something.
Ah, right next door! The exact opposite type of terrain, too. XD
Thanks so much! I tried to make it something worth looking at. XD And the book definitely has a good hunk of my heart, so I couldn't not mention it.
I did notice that in your fic, and I enjoyed your interpretation immensely. I really have warmed up to them recently; I don't know if it's just watching their antics in the video game (which I recently tried out) or what. They're really pretty cute in their own right.

Well, I've seen your work in general when I've looked over HTTYD fan art.
Yup- Missouri is more rugged terrain than Kansas overall, but the Flint Hills region of Kansas is lovely. And there is a lot to say for the Great Plains when people get off the Interstate and take things at a slower pace. I actually lived in Nebraska for several years and came to love it- there the plains are flat near the rivers, but they mostly are rolling hills of grass. I used it as my inspiration for the Great Steppe in my story since I have not yet been to the areas between Kazakhstan and the Ukraine where Toothless would have been journeying with the Sarmatian horse and rider.
Did you now that Ch4rms lives in Kansas, too?
Gronckles are great. I made a point of giving them some love because their non graceful, swine looking appearance made them the least favorite dragons to kids. I'd be shopping for kitchen supplies at Wal Mart and notice only Gronkle merchandise remained in the toy department. According to the movie website, they are unique because of their ability to fly backwards and hover, so that makes them interesting. Plus they are supposed to be very loving and loyal to their humans- so that's another plus. I think they'd be like owning a sturdy but surefooted Fjord horse or Highland Pony- the equivalent in the horse kingdom

Huh!
Oh yeah, I love the Flint Hills. They're gorgeous. Makes me wish I'd have more opportunities to go riding and such.
And I did- I think she's up in the KC area. She seems to enjoy that fact. XD
Yeah, they've definitely grown on me. In the video game, they're a very stable, sturdy dragon, and I've come to appreciate their mannerisms more. I like their toothy yawns and such. It wouldn't be bad to have a Gronckle. In fact, they'd probably be the most manageable breed to keep around the house- more low-key in nature and shorter limbs to keep track of.

Yes, Gronckles are great. That's nice to hear in the game they have stable, sturdy manners. That would be like them. The other dragons can get all hyperactive. The Gronckles will just wait it out and smell the roses until it's time to fight.

Yep, I'm that one weirdo creepin' on the fandom. XD I try not to muddy up the group too much with that stuff, though. XP
It's why I sometimes sign stuff CF. XD
And thanks so much! I figured I might as well go the whole hog and try to put some effort into it. XD I really should interact with the fandom more... draw stuff for people, whatnot.
Glad you like it. N' thanks!

*lol* But then.... CF could really go for either one.

Exactly. I'm on multiple sites, so I sign stuff ambiguously. XD
It was funny actually, because I didn't intentionally pick my names to do that. It just sort of happened.
