Description
What, no Dragonese speakers in the house? XDFluffy movie stuffs as promised. More likely to follow. XD
Messy. But then, anything attributed to Cowell should be quirky and messy, don't you think? That's my excuse.
( BTW, if you're having trouble with these two, you're welcome to use my personal stash of references- they're not GREAT, but serviceable enough. XD [link] )

Oh my goodness, I never commented on this! I'm evil. I do speak Dragonese. In fact, the book I made for my Hiccup cosplay contains all the dragonese from the first few books.
This is so cute. I love Toothless' ears twitching as he watches him.

I can't wait for the DVD but I hope this has a long successful run at the theaters. I'm tempted to get one of the games, but games based on movies are usually so lame... I just want to see more of the characters and creatures.

Yeah, I know. I've got nothing against popping over to the theatre weekly for my fix... XD
I've seen footage of the game... it's not HORRIBLE from what I can tell (it actually seems to strongly reference the book), but it looks like it's got a strange premise- it seems to take place after the events of the movie, and it has this whole dragon-stats building/customization feature. Odd. Rent it. XD

! Rent! That's a great idea! *hasn't rented a game in ages*
I've only seen little trailers for the game, and they stress the customization and "training" so much that I'm seeing a string of mini-games instead of a cohesive game. I'd be okay with it taking place after the movie, I suppose--there seems to be a movement that to make games based on movies better, they can't actually do the stuff from the movie because we've already seen that. I've always felt that crummy controls and pointless tasks made movie games bad.

Heh, Toothless looks great, especially his expression! He's just giving Hiccup that 'ORLY?' look. How cute. ....Odd... Why does Toothless remind me of a cow in this picture? None the less, he turned out really great! The messy look sort of fits.

A-a cow? XD Nah, I see it- horns and ears, horns and ears... yeah, I could see that. XD
The messy look should fit, considering the original illustrations... here, check 'em out. XD [link]

Maybe we should tie a bell around his neck and call him Bessie. I guess we better hope he doesn't get lead to the slaughter house one day. I wonder what Night Fury tastes like? C:
Wow, the originals are REALLY messy. XD They do see to fit well to the story though.

Mmmmm, dragon wings.... XD
They do, though, don't they? XD A story about wild Vikings merits suitably wild illustrations- and they fit the job excellently. XD

Ha, thanks a ton! I'm so glad. I've only just now started to get the hang of a movie-esque Hiccup (though I've been drawing the book-character on and off for about six years. XD), so I'm glad I'm managing it semi-convincingly. XD
The soundtrack = 70 minutes of pure awesome. XD I adore that track, and that scene. God, what I wouldn't give to watch 'em storyboard that movie... XD

I have the soundtrack too!!! That is my favorite track also and it fitted well with the scene. The drawing in the dirt was my favorite scene.

Greatness! I'm also really fond of "See You Tomorrow" (I actually talked my school into using it for curtain-call music for our production of "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe". XD I was smiling inside. XD).
That was a fabulous scene- and so deep, too! One of the reasons I adore that movie is that it was so suave with the symbolic imagery- I'm a sucker for that stuff. XD

Oh, it did. XD It swelled right in time for Aslan's bow. Spot-on perfect.
And, heck yes. And I pick up more, along with crazy little things about the script, every time I see it. XD It's just so... so perfect... XD
It's weird, because I'm generally a book purist, and this book happens to be one of my top favorites, even though it's a goofy kids' book- but as much as they rearranged for the cinema, they did NOTHING wrong. XD I couldn't have asked for anything better. XD

That is good timing!!! I feel like at times that movies can ruining good books. But when I went online and read the difference b/w the book and movie, I thought "Oh but it shouldn't be that bad." And I was right!!! The movie was awesome!!! I have seen the movie like 6 times...going for 7!

Yeah, it's one of those rare occasions where you might actually be disappointed with the BOOK, if you end up reading it later. XD
But hopefully all this hubub will bring it to light here in the States (in the UK, it's a much bigger thing- it's actually a series with like, at least six books)- it's a genuinely crazy, unique, and awesome little book- it makes me want to have kids just so I can raise them on it. XD
And seriously, that movie broke boundaries. I'll be honest- I'm not a HUGE fan of Dreamworks, and I tend to be more over in the Pixar camp. This just raised the bar to a whole new level in American animation- it's been compared to Miyazaki, and I'm pretty sure a lot of its characterization and such is even better than that. XD Combine that with a quirky, yet clean script and an excellent score, and well... you get something practically addictive, it's so good.
I've been going for a weekly fix, but I live in a small town and everyone at the theater knows me, so I don't want 'em to think I'm nutters. XD
