Description
Second of a series of cosplay edits forDid a better job on this one, but peh, still needs work. XDXD SO MANY SCALES. O.O
Everything up there is my work, save the cutout (which I simply changed to silhouette, for the purpose of hiding the gigantic hole in his chest where I didn't paint anything. XD)
It'll make more sense when the complete piece is posted, which shouldn't be long here.

This one is way more convincing than the last time. Very nice.
In most cases, I'd say paint even what is to be painted over. However, considering that this image was sent to someone else, it was probably more conveniant to keep it blank. Selection tools and what not...

Thanks a lot! I definitely learned from the last one, and put some more effort into jazzing this one up. 
Yeah, I'll at least block in the not-used stuff next time. XD Could be helpful. In this one, I was just trying not to get myself all riled up over those stupid scales. XD

My oh my, who's sexy silhouette is that? Just joking. This was such an incedible job of doing everything about Toothless. The scales, the leathery skin. This was truly some awesome work. You should really do more of it.

for practice and reference!
I rarely throw away any layers in photoshop that contribute to the final image, and often keep parts that are covered up by other layers.
Commission wise, if someone wants a change, like removing a character's jacket for instance, the arms and shoulders are still there for something else!
Plus, if part of the anatomy is missing when I draw, I usually stuff up the rest of the image somewhere! XD

Well, I was taking long enough on this already, and I knew what the conditions would be (in fact, I was free to establish them, essentially).
I don't think I'm as fast as most artists. XP That's all very well and good if it doesn't take much time for you to draw, but I'd rather not take another hour or two to do something that's not going to be seen anyway.
If that makes me lazy, then I'm lazy. XP But the picture's not crap (at least, I hope it's not...).
