When the universe began, the great creator sought to bring conciousness into it's creations. It split it's conciousness into fourteen different facets of feeling, in order to instill a great many values into the hollow beings of the universe. One of these, Hethrax'ei, embodied Greed. Hethrax'ei desired not just material wealth, but control, security, the love of few, and fear in all. Hethrax'ei's desires drove him to create a vast kingdom of wealth all dedicated to him. His worshipers were the richest beings in the universe, and those who denied him groveled in the dirt. Hethrax'ei's polar opposite, Mandra, who embodied charity, shunned him, but she could not lift a hand againt him herself, so she weaved a plan to remove Hethrax'ei from power. Mandra asked her followers to travel to and care for the followers of Coisus, who embodied envy. They claimed the wealth they brought was liberated from Hethrax'ei. Coisus never knew how much wealth his brother's followers had amassed, but the power Hethrax'ei held was clearly much greater than his own. Coisus would not stand for this. And so a war amoung the stars begun. Such destruction was wrought that the intervention of others became nessessary. Hethrax'ei's other brothers and sisters accused him of goading Coisus into an eldrich war, unkowing of Mandra's plans. They stripped Hethrax'ei of his power, and locked him away upon a lonely planet.... But one cannot truely remove an eldrich being from the pantheon...

20,000 years later, Henessy Q. Redmann founds a megacorperation on the ashes of a failed political system, in a city called Overworld.... A city that has forgotten the ancient times where the elder gods still walked among the stars.
