Er, if Hannibal wasn't a teen then it would be canon.
lol.
Have you watched Hannibal? or read the books?

I've seen Hannibal once...and Red Dragon.
But sadly thats the only referance I have of the series.
He's a real charming fellow, if not scary as hell.

Well in the books, Clarice is actually the one who attempts to seduce Hannibal while they're in the house he brought her too. They end up leaving the country and getting married.
They changed that for the movie because the writers didn't think it was very 'hollywood', lol.

It really upsetted me that they failed to find a way to translate the original ending to the screen, i just love something so different and twisted and romantic, i loved the Books ending. 100%

Um, I actually seem to recall that he spent quite some time brainwashing her before she "seduced" him. I never thought I'd say this, but...I thought the ending of the movie was truer to Clarice's character than that of the novel.
I kinda think that's why Jodie Foster refused when she was approached to reprise the part...

@AdAbsurdum, i read the series a couple of times, speaking specifically on "Hannibal", and while i will agree he was hypnotizing her,to my clear understanding it was to help her clear the hidden anger and issues with her father and for him to also make a place in clarice for his dead sister Mischa but to which fails and wins for hannibal at the same time because she pleasently shocked and helped him in return by making him realize that his little sister didnt have to stay alive in her, but in Hannibals heart, just like he made clarice realize that her father would always be alive in hers.
so lecter abandoned his plans cuz clearly she seduces him instead and is later on said in the book that he had no longer thought about the nightmares surrounding his the memories of his little sister anymore, to say simply he no longer thought about bringing back Mischa so to speak. so he didnt make clarice his vesel for his departed sister and hooked up with her instead... , theres always been this weird connection between them (more-so from Hannibal)and when they were spotted in Argentina at the end of the book, the writer clearly states that Hannibalhad stopped drugging her years ago, shes with him willingly at the Very ending! so its not completely one sided after all!(?) I personally liked that ending it wasnt expected, it wasnt typical, it was twisted, they both encountered a revelation for both main characters, and then they were together... i can still understand if you didnt prefer it though.. i just cant help but give my input, i hope my response wasnt offending in any way i just really enjoyed this story.

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm a big fan of the books. I agree. The ending of Hannibal really upset me when I first read it because it seemed so out of character for Starling.
He was brainwashing her since they first met. He finally won her at the end.

Actually no, but I was hoping for it.
I actually hoped Hannibal and Clarice would get together ever since Mr Harris took the time to make a big deal over their hands touching in Silence of the Lambs.

DeathNoteGurl In reply to Boxohobo [2008-08-08 21:05:50 +0000 UTC]

Well I didn't really suspect any sort of love between them untill they accidently touched hands through his cage in Silence of the Lambs and the author took the time to write about how epic that moment was for about 10 pages, lol.
And he had Clarice think about it constantly after.
So I assumed something as up lol

Well, if you ignore the whole Hannibal being a teen thing, then it's kinda canon, considering the end of Hannibal, the book.

...BUT YEAH, it's strange hahahaha. TIME JUMP!
