Well, I already said it earlier but... damn, your fight scenes look awesome. To me, they look like something you'd see on a cinema poster. Maybe it's the layout...

It's a trap?!
Who could have POSSIBLY seen that coming?!

Well, I know who couldn't have seen that coming, and it's the person who's been studying the "New Tribe" enough to gain several preconceptions over the way they behave and their mental facilities, not taking evolution or mutation into account on the fact that usually that sort of behavioral change happens over the course of years if not decades or centuries. Yeah, but no matter how many preconceptions one has, if it looks like a trap, acts like a trap, and smells like a trap...chances are it's a trap.
Hindsights always 20/20, ain't it Neddy?

Not necessarily, actually. Ned didn't go in with any thoughts of it being a trap--he thought it was weird and he had a strange feeling about it, but the thing about preconceptions is that you THINK you have an idea of how things work. You don't go into something that has been one way for a discernible while and suddenly suspect it's something else, darling. Human nature works on routine and on the familiar, which is actually a theme I'm using through this round. It's easier to ignore something when you're not expecting it.

True.
I don't usually have anything to do with any horror or gore stories, especially any that involves zombies. (Iknow, I'm a huge wimp.) But DeviantDead keeps me interested. Just thought I'd say...
Adaptation is a major playor in human nature, too. Does that mean that the zombies in your story still have some humanity?

this whole smart zombie thing is screwing with Word of God and what zombies can and cannot do, but I'm going to let it slide because a) this fight scene is awesome 2)Birdie's science may as well be Word of God for this series, and d) that zombie and I can totally be bfs until I get some sleep and my lazy eye goes away.

Well, actually, the definition of zombie behavior and how zombies are developed/do develop have changed over the years. I mean, our current conception of zombies are so different from their origins in voodoo, and so who can say what zombies are "supposed" to be or what the Word of God is exactly? I'm sort of glad with the whole ability to play around with the zombies in this series--different situations we can get the characters in. Everyone can have their preference on zombies, but I do actually get sort of annoyed when people put a "THIS IS HOW IT IS" on them. Let us have our fun. U_U
