Description
Ragetti's eye pops out again.I don't know, I was tired last night and I felt like doing something soothing, so I went for animation, I guess. Gahaha... I was going to clean it up so that it was actually Ragetti moving around instead of random horribly drawn blob man, but then I found out that... i don't like clean up. *laughs* Hope it looks okay?

It may be "rough" but it's still greatly amusing

XD Oh god, it's a proper slapstick sketch! Poor Ragetti! The movements really life-like!

Funny
Mind thou, thy style is much more clean-up than mine, I can not draw even a face of a human without at least one hundred little, scurvy -I mean curved- lines.

I love this!
Please tell me you're thinking about cleaning up. I hate it too, but this would totally rock!
Plus it would be the first animation of Pirates I've seen.

Sheer genius. xD This made me serious LOL. I love the sketchyness of it, it makes it funnier. Especially when it pops out of his hand and hits him in the face. Win. Absolute win.

Heh, you're a step ahead of me...
What program you use, how to use the program, and your method of animating in general would be nice.

Well, I actually use flash or photoshop for my animations. Photoshop is different in that it wasn't technically MADE for animation, so it takes a bit of tweaking around with opacity and stuff. But to animate on photoshop, you just employ the layers as different sheets of paper in actual animation. One frame on each layer. Flash is actually made for animation, so there's a lot more tools and usefulness going on there.
Flash is used for most animations nowadays, but the majority of them use symbols and tween animation. It's different than what I do, which is keyframe animation, which is actual drawing frame by frame. I don't actually know how to get into that kind of explanation; I think there are loads of good tutorials on keyframe flash animation online. *laughs*
When I animate (and it looks slightly okay, like this one) I usually think about what I want to do first, because just winging it without some semblance of a plan first in animation isn't really a smart thing... I basically pick out what I want to happen and thumbnail the main movements down on paper. And THEN I go into flash and start animating. After that, it's kind of intuitive when it comes to proper squash and stretch and frames to a movement and stuff like that... hard to explain, since I'm not that great at animation myself yet. *laughs*
If you have anymore questions, just ask.

I know this's prolly been asked before but, how exactly do you do that? I'm into animation myself and knowing how to do this will give me a taste of what it takes.

*laughs* I don't mind answering questions about animation, but I'm not very good myself yet.
It would help a bit if you were a little more specific... what do you mean by "how do you do that?" As in the program, how to use the program, how to animate in general, what exactly?

This is really great. Funny. And as blackat said, the animation is so fluid. It really would be a crime if you weren't able to become an animator.

I was trying to clean it up to make it Ragetti, but I got really irritated and stopped. *laughs* Later, when I'm more patient, maybe.

I love how smooth the movements are in your animations - my God, if you don't become an animator one of these days then there is something seriously wrong with the world! XD

Ragetti is the pirate from PIrates of the Caribbean who had the wooden eye that always pops out.

that is very true. I was wondering about when the first nine pirate Lords substituted whatever they had in their pockets for nine pieces of eight. Why'd the Pirate lord of the Caspian sea have that eye on him?

Hmmm, I would have to go and watch it again- I saw the first one a million times, the second one twice, and the last one only once. I bought the DVD but never watched it. I only vaguely remember that part.

I watched it today... it's sad it has no commentary.
BTW I really like this animation it's easily recognizeable as Ragetti.
