Description
A depiction of my characters Lu(protagonist of "Weapon" www.deviantart.com/crusaderape… ) and her husband Hunts-with-Passion(protagonist of "Savage" www.deviantart.com/crusaderape… ), and their currently unborn and unnamed daughter, all of them genetically-modified spiregliders in service to the Sacred Republic of Haven.

In addition to the "standard" package of strength, reaction time, and combat augmentations, Haven's spiregliders have had their eyes modified to see human-visible light in addition to their natural thermoperception for operational reasons, via means of what is functionally a human eye stuck into the middle of their existing, thermally sensitive scleara-analogs. This does require extensive neurological reworking of the organism's brain, but spiregliders don't actually have that big of an "optic" lobe anyway so it was fairly easy to make a new one.

On one of Lu's shoulders is her Shepherdess' crook, a symbol of her position as the civic leader of her 24-person Flock. She was also their military leader before conceiving her daughter, handing the position off to her husband after realizing she was pregnant. In her holster is her pistol, another symbol of authority.

In the upper left, Hunts-with-Passion puts on his best "yes dear" face as a maternity dress-clad Lu expresses her displeasure at his seeming inability to properly assemble a crib.
