I love Emma, I think she gets way more hate than is expected. She's flawed, stubborn, she doesn't know exactly what she wants, and her methods aren't exactly the cleanest of intentions (e.g. wanting to kidnap Henry essentially, susceptible to violence, parallels to Regina), but I believe as the seasons go on we will see her purity as the Savior flesh out as she embraces her destiny.

If Emma has to wear a dress any time soon, I'm gunning for something like what we saw in the first episode - red, simple, modern, and a total contrast from the lavish, outstanding and dark elegance of Queen Regina's dresses. Emma encompasses modernness and simplicity within such a complicated universe. Thanks!

I was disappointed August (as well as Gold, come to think of it) wasn't in the Singlebrooke video! I would have liked to see him but I guess there's more demand for Graham than August. And August/Emma was kind of forced more than Graham/Emma IMO. It happened so quickly, and even if we were to believe there was some chemistry there, August chased after her (and Gold for that matter) for arguably reasons that would benefit him the most. I think he has to realize that Emma being the Savior doesn't mean divine retribution is on its way, and I think he has some past mistakes he needs to work on fixing as well.

I love her, too. She gets way too much hate than she should compared to other characters like Snow White, Rumpelstiltskin, Mad Hatter, Prince Charming, Evil Queen, etc. But I think that comes from the fact that viewers are watching the show--we all see what happens, how characters like the Mad Hatter and Pinocchio suffer as they try to convince her and we feel for them. Because their happiness is only certain if this woman--this stubborn, determined, and yet scared woman--believes in them, and when she doesn't, fans naturally feel anger towards her. Especially in the woods when August tried to convince her about the curse, and she didn't want to listen. But I actully felt her struggle more than his--and even though I think he did feel guilty, I also think he is selfish. He may have left when he was a kid (and I don't blame him for that a ton) but he never came back for her when he got older. She could have been dead for all he knew.

I did kinda wish that August and Mr. Gold would have appeared--they both would have been hilarious. Also would have liked more Ruby and Emma.

I honestly don't think August and Emma will be a couple in season 2. The actors do have chemistry (the whole cast has great chemistry with each other) but I never thought of them as being romantic. Emma needs to be with someone who she feels won't leave her behind--she's already going to have a tough relationship with her parents. I doubt she and August would work out.

I've decided to call it Puppet's Conscience, though Wooden Conscience sounds a little more natural - but I really wanted to emphasize the whole "he is his conscience" aspect. Bleh, somebody'll figure it out one day.

Dr. Whale who we have NO IDEA who he is in Fairytale Land. If I really HAD to choose a character that made me want to burn things - and I'm pretty forgiving considering a lot of them in reality are just poor confused souls effing up a lot of things like David and his problems, Sidney being two-faced, and Regina being absolutely terrifyingly manipulative - it's probably Whale just because he needs to understand when women are trying to get over lovers and complicated relationships, and also start seeing what's past the ass.

Well, perhaps if David hadn't dumped Mary Margaret, after making her believe that he wanted to be her lover, she wouldn't have been so vulnerable to Dr. Whale. I thought it was a bit unfair of him (David/Prince Charming), to punch out Whale for seducing Mary Margaret while they'd been under the curse, but not hold himself accountable, while cursed, for rejecting her earlier that night.

So how did Dr. Victor Frankenstein get drawn into the Enchanted Forest/Storybrooke curse in the first place, anyway? He's hardly a fairy tale character or AFAIK a Disney one either...  --C.K.

David was very confused about what to do considering he was a married man but he had feelings for Mary Margaret. Admittedly, I don't think much of David's actions were very fair either. But Whale was a womanizer. As Frankenstein, I liked him a lot more because it added more depth to his character than just a guy who hits on the ladies; we get to see more of that side that makes him "doctor".

Also, I'm pretty sure the idea well went dry or copyrights couldn't be obtained at the time. So then the Fairytale universe expanded; we now know that other worlds such as Oz, Camelot, and Victor Frankenstein's world exist out there.

Well, the issue I have is that Camelot, Wonderland, Neverland, etc. are all magical/mystical realms, but Victor Frankenstein is essentially a science-fiction character rather than a magical/mystical one--hence his claim, "Better than magic--science!" So what was he doing in Storybrooke, since he wasn't originally an Enchanted Forest resident nor the offspring of one?

Yes, Dr. Whale was a womanizer, he obviously related to women, including Mary Margaret, primarily as sex objects--but she went along with a 'one-night stand,' for reasons that certainly weren't good (being freshly rejected by David), so in that one instance she accepted (and momentarily adopted) his shallow sexual lifestyle.

Before the final episode of season one, Snow White and Mary Margaret were effectively two separate characters, so David/Prince Charming afterward assaulting Whale/Frankenstein because he "had sex with my wife" is based on faulty reasoning, isn't it...??  --C.K.

I believe he was trying to bring his brother to life, IIRC. And only magic was capable of what he wanted to do at that point.

Mary Margaret certainly shares some of that blame; anybody does, really, when they accept that. But basically, David/Prince Charming is pretty much faulty as is. ESPECIALLY this season. Like, he might have been one of the most disagreeable characters on the show and I'm not okay with writers trying to shoehorn that to cater to the anti-fans of Charming - like I sit there and I'm like "he can't be that stupid" and I'm like "no stop what you're doing because it's not making me happier about the writing right now". But he's been very difficult as of late for me if not before.

It's pretty easy to miss him, actually, considering how background he is. Just remember he's the kind of cute but smarmy-eyed doctor who keeps hitting on Mary Margaret and you should be fine.

I'll take it a step further. The frilly, princessy-looking dress is actually both pink OR blue, depending on whether or not Flora and Merryweather can decide what colour would look best on the Savior for her return and claim to the throne back in Fairytale Land - despite Emma GREATLY disapproving of everything.
