Nothing like a good GP40-2 to put you in the Christmas mood!

Holy crap, this is truly amazing! Love that stark look of the high hood, the colours are spot on as well! Only thing I find odd is that it doesn't seem to be quite as sharp as one would expect, but that might be my tired eyes as well.

Thanks for the kind words and the fav

You have a good eye, the sharpness took a little bit of a hit when I took out the noise, its not really noticeable on the train as much (some of that is just DA turning it into a web friendly jpeg, it's sharper than that when I order prints), but if if you look at the ice and snow by the tracks on the left they don't look nearly as sharp.

You know, this locomotive looks like it inspired Half-Life 2.

My god, this is beautifull. In my opinion: one of the best train photographs I've seen untill now. Good job!

Thanks, and thanks for the fav. It wasn't as cold as I thought, but I'm still glad I got out of there when I did.

Mhmm, the sunsets and the dark clouds add a lot of interest but put an interesting glow on the train itself. It shows off that the train is very tall.

A tall dark and handsome...err....train?
