Description
Having completely given up on my "thou shalt not do Blue's Clues non-animal reference pics" and "thou sure as hell shalt not do Blue's Clues gijinka" ideas with Side Table, Mailbox seemed like he would be pretty easy to do next. Yeah, um, about that. There's way too much purple there. Way too much. I probably should've found an actual lavender colored pencil before attempting this one.
In any case, Mailbox as an actual mailbox was a lot more difficult than I expected; I just could not get him right for anything and went with my least-bad attempts. Coloring made him look much better... I think it's the way the mouth works.
As a human he was pretty simple, other than deciding what color his hair should be. I think I color tested every possible human hair color. Plus purple. (But that was... way too much purple.)
As an aside: Mailbox attempts to supplant Tickety as my favorite secondary character every time I watch Joe's Surprise Party. I'm not even sure I can envision Steve bossing Joe around the way Mailbox does in that one.
