Marion Cottilard several years prior to being in Inception was in a biopic film called La Vie En Rose as Edith Piaf. One of Piaf's other songs is used in Inception as the kick music. I can see why Nolan brought her back along with Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt when he made The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan is known for having the same actors/actresses in multiple films - most prominently is Michael Caine.
