Now put Zoltar on a rock striking a pose and there you have it
And you said you were bad a backgrounds. tsk tsk. That looks amazing.
I want to go jump in the water...unless there are crocs.
Are there crocs?

At first glance it really did look like a photo shoot. A really good one. It couldn't tell it wasn't till I saw the step by step you posted. Then I was like, SHE PAINTED THIS!?! Really good! This is very good. The sand and water looks very much real. The rocks too but I could see the work you put in it now.

If you saw the fullsize version you would see how messy and scratchy and painted it really is [link] The trick is to work on a really big canvas, so when you shrink it at the end, the human eye does a lot of the blending for you.

Impressive. Either my eye sight is going, or my monitor is rubbish heh.. I kid, but really. It's very impressive, incredably realistic. The detail of the sand gives that illusion. The water too.

Thanks. In reality its rather messy and scratchy but when you shrink it the eye blends it all together.
