(I know; AWESOME name [/sarcasm]) This is yet another creation spawned from my obsession with Silent Hill. The creatures in Silent Hill tend to be a manifestation of aspects of the main character's (or main antagonist's) psyche; i.e. the Grey Children the SH movie (and game) were reflections of Alessa's hate toward the children who bullied her, etc. So I started to wonder: What sort of creatures would spawn from my mind if I went to Silent Hill?

This was what I came up with--a creature that drags around a giant "pen," relying heavily on it to hold itself up and both helping and impeding its movement. At the same time, the pen/hand drips a liquid from its tip, leaving lines showing where it has been. I'm tempted to say that the liquid is blood, just for the macabre factor, but I think it makes more sense for it to be the black, acidy substance the Patients shoot out of their chests. Not only does it look like ink, but it makes their trails that much more dangerous, and leaves a much more indelible mark on the world itself.

As for the name...well, almost all of the creatures in SH end in "-er" (Mumbler, Slurper, Closer, etc.), and this seemed the most appropriate. "Writer" didn't sound creepy enough, and it was much too obvious.

I like it. It's not incredibly detailed, but I think if I tried to go for more detail, it would end up looking less creepy. Not that it's very creepy right NOW, but...ok, I'm rambling. I'll shut up now.
