Noctis and Inkwell? Sounds like a weird ass ship, but here me out here!

  Inkwell is a huge grumpy asshole, always brooding about. Noctis however is a sweet little baby who loves sparkly things! Twilight, desperate to try and be the best mother she can to Inkwell, asks Luna if she can venture into his dreams and talk with him. Noctis overhears their conversation and decides to take it upon herself to make this grumpy purple horse a not-so-grumpy purple horse... there's only one problem, however... She doesn't really know how to talk to normal ponies, having kept herself to the night and her direct family. Twilight is kinda like her aunt, right? She tries to bring it up with Twilight that she wants to be the one to cheer up Inkwell, no one should never feel the joy of a smile! However it seems Twilight is too busy being Twilight. Thankfully, Love Letter happened to overhear Noctis trying to talk to her mother, and told her she'd help her in cheering up her big brother. Noctis was thrilled not only to have an accomplice, but also that she wasn't the only hybrid royal! She and Love Letter tried and failed numerous times to try and make Inkwell smile.

  Love Letter threw the idea that, maybe, if Inkwell had a special somepony, then he'd be a little nicer and less gloomy! Noctis thought for a moment, "But who would it be?" "You!" Saying Noctis was red in the face was an understatement. "M-me?" Love Letter grinned with glee, "Yeah! You! You've been trying so hard just to see him smile, why not do it in person? On a date!!" Noctis stuttered trying to reply, but Love Letter shoved a hoof in her mouth to silence her, telling her that she could handle everything. All she had to do was look pretty, and wait for a note about the date. Days passed, weeks even, and Noctis hadn't received anything from Love Letter. She thought she'd forgotten, until a small knock came to her bedroom door. She opened it to and all too excited Yak-Pony telling her to get ready, the date was today! Noctis basically squawked in surprise as Love Letter rushed to go through her clothes, picking out what she thought would be the best dress. When she was finally all dolled up, Love Letter had even dragged in Flurry Heart for make-up (And to repick the dress), Noctis was sent out to the castle garden. It was night and her mother had already raised the moon, Celestia having already gone to bed for the night.

Noctis flew down to where Love Letter told her the date would be taking place, finding Inkwell was absent... Maybe he decided to not come? She sat down at the table, wondering where in the world did that child get the time or resources to make such a fancy date. Then again, she got Flurry Heart involved, so only the best was permitted. She heard rustling in front of her, and out came a flustered Inkwell, his hair brushed back, and his sideburns trimmed. He was just as dolled up as she was, apparently Love Letter saw it fit to not only get Noctis all pretty, but also her own brother. After getting unstuck from a loose branch, Inkwell finally looked up to see his date. He was absolutely stunned, surprised, and also suspicious, "Noctis?" The dragon-pony gave a sheepish grin, unsure how to reply. Inkwell walked over to the fancy dining, "This was all your doing? You're my secret admirer?" Noctis inhaled and held it for a second before slowly exhaling, calming herself. "Well, if I'm to be honest... This was all your sisters doing."

  "Love Letter?"

  "Yep." Inkwell sighed and took a seat, "Well, at least she was smart enough to not do it alone. Flurry Heart knows a thing or two about dates... And dressing up." Noctis giggled, "Yeah, I didn't wish to be rude, but the original dress Love Letter picked out was... Well, it was pretty but just..."

  "It was hideous?"

  "No! It was my dress after all!... It just didn't fit with the whole theme, I suppose."

  "The theme of eating in the middle of the Canterlot castle gardens?"

"I suppose you have a point. Could have been worse, we could be eating over a volcano."

"Or at my mom's place."

"Oh, your mom's not too bad!"

"Have you ever even talked to my mother?" Inkwell squinted his eyes at her, leaning forward. She blinked and shrugged, "I tried to, once, but..." Inkwell sat back in his seat, "Buut, she was too busy sorting books or talking to herself?" Noctis nodded, "Yeah basically."

They continued to talk, even catching a few laughs here and there. They seemed to bond over a shared worry of others opinions and playfully picking on each other's family. One could say the date was a success, Noctis could even swear she saw Inkwell crack a smile, and hide a laugh. They talked more after that, though on more casual terms and not with Love Letter forcing them into a date (Though that's not to say she didn't try multiple times). The rest is history as they grew closer and Noctis finally got passed Inkwell's hard shell to see his soft insides.

WOWIE ZOWIE THAT GOT LONGER THAN EXPECTED AND I LITERALLY JUST PULLED THAT OUT OF MY ASS I HOPE YOU LIKE WALL OF TEXT'S IM SORRY DBHJSDKBKHJBHJRDSBGHJ ANYWAY THIS IS A GUILTY PLEASURE SHIP OF MINE HA HA GANG GANG ALSO THEY MAKE A CUTE KID, I CALL HER SPARKLING FLOWER AND I DIDN'T DRAW HER CUTIE MARK BUT IT'S PROBBALY GOT SMTHN TO DO W A FLOWER CAUSE HER WHOLE THING IS GARDNENING, SHEM LOVE PLANTS! Also unpictured is the tiny lil ponytail behind her head where the hair being pulled back ties up together.
