Description
“What the heck was that thing?” he asked himself.Bryce tried to get some sleep, but couldn’t get the creature off his mind. His mind raced with questions like “what the heck was that” and “where did that thing come from”. He knew that it wasn’t a fish or any other animal he’d heard about. For hours, he thought about it.
When the sun arose, Bryce looked out at the ocean. The clash between him and the animal surged through his brain. It rendered him helpless and could’ve killed him but chose not to. It was like it had some feeling of empathy for him.
“I have to go” he said to himself.
He had formed fascination for this thing and had to know more. The time on his alarm clock read 8:30 a.m. This was perfect because it meant that Cameron was already at work and people usually don’t come outside till noon. His plan was to go out to the beach and see if it was still there.
Since Cameron was gone, Bryce just went through the back door. As he ran down to the steady waves of the beach, he looked around for the creature in the water. After minutes of seeing nothing but water he gave up hope and thought it must’ve swam away. But as he turned around to go home, he heard a faint hiss in the background. He turned towards the beach and ,to his disbelief, saw the creature. It was holding onto one of the beams that held up the dock.
Brice’s mind raced with excitement as he starred at it. Brice then began to walk closer to it. This cause the creature to let out a loud cat-like hiss but Bryce continued. He didn’t even feel fear of the creature but interest. He even went as far as walking up onto the dock and looked down at the animal. Now he had a clear look at the animals and could make out many more features than last night.
Its upper body seems human-like but its lower body is more aquatic. It seems the end of its body looks like the tail of a manatee. Its lower body looked like that of a whale or dolphin but has a small fin on its back that resembles the dorsal fin of a shark. Now its upper body is very human like and aquatic with arms, hands, a human-like head, and human-like torso. Its hands seem human-like but with webbed fingers, probably to help it swim. Its head is roundish and has two large yellow eyes. It also has a small crest that starts from its forehead to the back of its neck. And its color wasn’t a murky grey like I thought. Instead the front of it is white and the back is dark blue with black speckles down its lower body. But what shocked him the most was it looked female! He looked at its chest and saw breast.
“You’re a girl, aren’t you?” he asked it.
The creature just continued to give him an intimidating stare. Although it looked like she wanted him to leave, he still stuck around. He continued to ask her questions even though he knew the animal couldn’t talk back. After a while he realized that the animal must’ve been hungry since she stayed here all night.
“Hold on, I’ll be back” he said in a reassuring tone.
Bryce dashed back to his house and opened his refrigerator. He didn’t really know what this thing would want to eat. It could be a carnivore, a herbivore or both. His mind raced with confusion.
“Wait, Last night when it attacked me, its breath smelled like fish. So if it smelled like fish, then it must eat fish!” he thought.
This was good because since his parents left, Cameron got a job as a fisherman’s assistant. This meant he got to bring a few fish they caught home. He looked at the bottom of fridge and saw a whole bucket filled with large fish.
He ran back to the site on the beach. He walked onto the dock carrying the heavy bucket all the way. When he reached to where the creature was, he put his hand into the bucket and held out a large fish. The creature’s focus instantly changed from Bryce to the fish he was holding out in front of it. Within seconds, it used its mouth and grabbed the fish out of his hand. Bryce was amazed with its speed and watched the animal just slurp it down like spaghetti noodles.
“You really must’ve been hungry” he said giggling.
Bryce then continued to feed the creature. Within minutes, there were no more fish left.
“Guess I’m out” he said.
When the creature heard that, she let out another hiss (like telling him to go away).
“Ha, a bit of gratitude would be appreciated” he said.
Bryce figured maybe he should leave the creature alone. He picked up the bucket and began to walk back to his house. However, as he walking, he heard a female voice behind him mutter “Thank you”.

Nice work once again! I'm wondering if you're going to finish the series, since you've done a good job so far.

This was much better than that silly show that Animal Planet put out. You could actually hold my attention. Granted, you could always work on your grammar, but this DA. Everyone needs a little work on their grammar. My previous sentence, for example, makes me cringe, but I'm too lazy to change it. Anyway, this is a really cool story. Keep it up.
