The house was quieter than usual. Since Lee had decided to take in Ember's sibling, they haven't spoken to each other besides notifying each other when they left the house. It lasted a whole week, until the noise came back.

Ember skimmed the page of the book she was reading, ignoring the oncoming headache as she squinted through the darkness of her room. Okay, the book just says to focus... and I'll be able to pick up on any noises nearby... Ember closed her eyes, staying still on her bed as to not make noise. Focus... Rhmm, focus...
tap, tap
Her ear twitched, turning her to where she thought the noise was coming from.
tap tap, shuffle
Ember tilted her head at the shuffle, opening an eye to see where she was facing. Oh, Lee's room... It's too early for him to be up isn't it? What's he tapping on?- Wait.
shuffle, tap tap tap. "Huh?..."

bump
Flick. The egg was hatching.
Ember continued listening in to what was happening in Lee's room, hopping off her bed quickly and out her room. Is she supposed to-
crack, bump bump. "Oh no, come on little guy.." crackling, shuffling. "No no, come on, stay with me.."
She couldn't hear the heartbeat anymore.
Ember rushed to Lee's door, shoving it open and freezing as she saw Lee nervously cleaning a small dark purple figure on his lap. A wyngling. Lee's new kid. Her sibling...... She still couldn't hear a heartbeat.
Once Lee was satisfied with cleaning he wrapped the motionless wyngling in the yellow blanket they came with, bringing them up to his heart and gently patting their back. "C-Come on, you're okay, you're safe now..." He glanced up at Ember when she slowly approached them, noting the obvious worry and fear on her features. "I-I can't... H-Heartbeat...." She mumbled quietly, still staring intently at her brother. Lee looked down at the small, fragile wyngling in his arms, hugging him closer and continuing to pat his back. Wake up, wake up.... please...
Lee and Ember jumped slightly at the cough that came out of the small wyngling, Lee laughing softly and bringing up his wings to act like a second blanket to his new son. "H-Hey.. Glad you decided to wake up from your nap..." He mumbled, looking down at his son lovingly. More family...
He'd protect him with his life..
Ember still stared at the wyngling in her father's arms, listening to the very weak thumping of her brother's heart. He's so small... So weak, if it wasn't for the absolute gentle hold Lee had on him she would've thought he'd fall apart. Someone could easily hurt him, especially the kids at the Nook. She slowly stepped closer, Lee smiling softly at her as well.
"Do you want to name your brother? I don't have any good ones..." He whispered to her, said wyngling sticking his tongue out and stretching his small legs on Lee's chest. Ember glanced up at him, her magic glands returning to their black color. She looked back down to the sleepy wyngling, sitting on the floor as she carefully lifted him out from Lee's grasp. Her brother mewled softly at the change, his face scrunching a bit as his claws searched for his blanket. So fragile... This was worrying, is this why Lee is always so anxious? It feels like anything could hurt him at any moment.
"Tony."
His ears perked at Ember's sudden declaration of his name, his eyes slowly opening to look directly into Ember's. They were the same. The eyes were the flicking same.
She placed him back in Lee's arms, her soft expression turning to one of frustration. "I'm going to Flint's." She got up, turning to the door and walking out. "But- Ember? Y-Your brother..." His voice trailed off as he watched her disappear, looking down at the tired newborn in his hold. He sighed, placing a gentle boop on Tony's forehead. "Sorry Tony... Ember... Will come around to you one day.."
Tony giggled at the boop, placing his claws on Lee's right wing and cooing curiously at it. "But don't worry, I'll be here for you.."
