It was quite sudden.
One moment Alma was marveling over how the had grown, Faris allowing her to inspect their new hair and slightly larger wings. The next thing they knew there was sounds of crashing outside, screams. The door to the Nook was shoved opened as wynglings and adults ran in, rays of red light were filtering through the door and windows. Strange, they had thought, they were certain it was not sunset or sunrise.
After pushing past the frantic gros warning everyone and trying to escape, Faris came to see a large creature taking residence on the Nova Tree. Wasn't the Nova Tree supposed to repel spites, not attract them?
Gazing at the panicking wyngrew, the ones getting ready to fight, and the ones helping others, they decided they should most likely take part in helping the town. They walked back inside, grabbing a nearby coat to wear. It was heavy, it would be harder to penetrate. Not that it would hold against that monster, but enough to keep them from dying instantly.
They shrugged it on, briefly wondering if Dipper was still asleep in their shared room before venturing closer to the small crowd readying for attack. Gulch had brought weapons for gros to take, offering a brief nod to the red quad before pulling two swords out of the cart.
They inspected the perfect weapons as they inched closer to the tree, looking up to know their surroundings.
More spites had flooded the streets, though they were more easily taken care of than the creature in front of them. Letting out a soft sigh, they readied for battle.

On closer consideration, maybe they should take classes for battle.
Faris blinked up at the roaring Deelagun, black blood oozing from their face and neck. It seemed like an annoyance at best to the creature, as it shook it head and roared at a gro flying above it. Faris' lip curled in disgust at the rumbling quickly traveling from it's stomach to its throat. "Truly hideous.." They muttered softly, watching it lash out at the others attacking it.
Its tail slammed against the base of the tree, claws lashing out at those who dared to cut deeper than the rest.
Faris only stared for a moment, taking in the sight as the creature raised its head to the red sky and let out a burst of blue flame.
Was this a good idea?
