Eh, not totally happy with it, it's really just a quick doodle I took too long on, but for goodness sakes it's been almost a year Crystal, post SOMETHING 8[...um...Crystal was addicted to Four Swords Adventures.
And now that she knows what the real Vaati looks like, she simply must play Minish Cap because he's adorable. <3......really now, what would a wind mage know about a fire rod? Perhaps he should take some lessons from Red. Gotta know how to use a fire rod in Frozen Hyrule, if only to protect your underlings. 8O

I was playing D and D with my group one time. We were hunting a white dragon so we went to the frozen ice mountains. I was the only one in a cape and it kept me moderately warm. While everyone else was freezing cold at the top of this mountain. Lolololol. It was perfect.

The 'real Vaati', as in his true form, is ultimately his demon form as it reflects his evil heart. If you play Four Swords you'll find that Vaati actually knows quite a bit about fire, as he can use it himself.
Also that isn't Shadow Link; Shadow Link is a shadowy black creature, not Link with purple hair and an indigo tunic. AND they (there were more than one) were not Vaati's minions, but Ganon's.

I'm heavily inspired by the Four Swords+ manga, where Shadow Link does indeed look like that and is his own singular entity. I haven't read it in years and years but if memory serves he was also Vaati's minion in that as well. From a quick read-through of the summary perhaps not as much of one as I thought, but they did work together. Good idea with the fire though, I hadn't thought of that!

Yeah, those mangas are a source of great disdain from me, because they're responsible for the proliferation of Dark Link's incorrect colour scheme (and the treatment of the creature as anything more than an enchantment).
