I wasn't sure whether I should draw Genie or not today. I've never actually drawn genie before, so that was a task in itself. Also, the fact that I used a video I was watching on an iPod Touch for reference didn't help much.In the movies, generally it is Aladdin who thanks Genie for what he's done. However, in The King of Thieves, Genie does everything in his semi-phenomenal, nearly-cosmic power to cheer Jasmine up. I thought that showing the two of them together in a rare 'moment' would be different.
That's what Robin Williams did: He cheered us up.
Disney owns Aladdin, and I shall leave you with a feature that will make you smile anyway.

This is cute.
I thought about drawing something for his memory, but... I just feel so bad about it.
It doesn't help anything about him now
I wish his fans would know about his depression when he was alive, then I would gladly join and show the love, and support him.
Now we can only remember, and that's not the same for me... not as inspiration.
Maybe once I'll find some time and draw a whole series about my favourites who left us ( including Isaac Asimov, Heath Ledger too )
But just because I don't want to draw now, I really love your drawing, it's so cute.

I wasn't sure whether to do it either. My inbox has just been packed with genies drawn in his memory. They were all from the first movie though.
I thought it would be fitting to do a picture from the third movie since Williams came 'back' to do Genie's voice for it. This is the one real scene where Genie gets thanked for just making Jasmine smile. Originally she's very mopey and he actually says "It's a joke. I do that."
I wanted a picture that showed that we want to say thank you for all his work
