Luke standing around in roses, looking shojo as a mofo.Well, I finally did something with that old sketch . Though I kinda like the sketch better, oh well. At least got some background practice and I draw roses a little bit better now than I did a year ago. :T
Looked at several different reference images of valleys for the bg.

Your colors are exquisite: The roses are beautiful; Luke is quite handsome; and the background is lovely.
There is only one - very minor - hitch I can see. It seems that the whole background sort of arrows down together on Luke. The lines of the mountains, the trees, the hillsides all look like they sort of spring out of where he's standing as opposed to existing naturally on their own. I hope that made some sort of sense.
I confess, the other thought I had was wondering if some lucky girl was going to be around to take care of all those scratches he's likely to pick up from standing around in the rose bushes.

I totally see what you mean, yeah! I'll have to work more next time on making the background look like its own entity, if that makes sense. Instead of just ornamentation behind the character. Thanks for pointing it out! (: (And naturally, he has someone who tends to all his unnecessary wounds. x) lol )

XD the thing i love most about the bg is that you actually didn't paint anything! I mean, it's nothing defined, still it freaking looks like an alpine landscape...i love it.

i think you did the right choice, too much details for a scenery so far would have rendered the pic "heavy".

I love your artwork, it would be the sort of stuff I'd like to see if one of my stories was turned into a graphic novel, but I'm assuming i could never afford that and you're hella busy. Still amazing artwork. I love it

Thing is, I was gonna use those requests to practice different things with my art, but I really shouldn't do that, cause then if I mess things up, I still have to show the sketch to everyone and eughhhh I'll keep trying stuff but will keep those attempts to myself until it looks presentable... will stick to what I know for Luke lol
