The SOUL of a person who either has the blood of all nine Colored Clans of either branch...or those that not only accept the 'beast' within but also being true to themselves. Truly, those with this SOUL are able to unlock the true potential of their Mortal Spirit, and are, perhaps, one of the most powerful beings other than Sages.

The Colored Clans came to be after the end of the first Sin and Virtue Trial. In both Origin Culture and Tales of the Dragon, the leader of the White Clan, Rosetta, was brought to Renato's world by her Spirit, Wing Ding Gaster, to help liberate Chara and the monsters before their world ends by Gygigas. Not only did she succeed with Cress Albane, she also brought the Monsters AND Frisk with them to be members of the Twiolian Tribe.

The SOULS of the other six children before Rosetta and Frisk were restored, and after a while, Chara and her friend came back as Seraphim. This is how the Colored Clans of the Human Branch came to be.

In the Era of Chaos, the Colored Clans of Keronian, Maronian and Axoltian came to be before Chaos used Rosusu to revive Amalgon by tricking Xibaba into making Rosusu to make a choice - Chaos forced him to kill the Rainbow Priestess, not knowing that Hikari wasn't even a full fledged Rainbow Sage, leaving Amalgon not completely at full power.

The blood of the person with a Rainbow SOUL is what binds the Gem Rainbow Dragon's Eye - Tanit's friend who they fused to create the Dragon of Malevolence - together after she was shattered by the founder of the Twioli Tribe, in her attempt to revive Tanit.

The Rainbow SOUL and the people who have them are rather rare - but for most, it's hard to not only accept the ugly parts of yourself but also remaining true to themselves. Life is a harsh mistress to all.

The colors within the SOUL represent the Colored Clans, while the 'halos' around the SOUL are of the White and Black clans, the gray chains being the power to 'Protect'.

The concept of the Rainbow SOUL, Colored Clans belongs to as well as some of the characters not recognized (Renato, Amalgon, the Gem Dragon Rainbow Dragon's Eye, Tanit, Rosusu and Chaos).

Rosetta, the Twioli Tribe, and the concept of the Sin and Virtue Trial belongs to Yue Twili.

Chara, Frisk, Wing Ding Gaster and the Monster Race belong to Undertale. Cress Albane and the mention of Seraphim belongs to the Tales series. The mention of Gems belongs to Rebecca Sugars who made Steven Universe. Gygigas belongs to the people who made Earthbound.
