Description
So, semi-finalists are up and I JUST saw that I'm out of the running. This is a corrected version of my original entry into the Code Geass contest that is just wrapping up.
I made a stupid mistake, but only noticed it AFTER the submission deadline. I accidentally shrank Suzaku's head to 75% of full, he should've been resized to 60% so he matched the crazy glowing kid from the Code Geass trailer. Kinda messes with the balance imho.
Anyway, now that I'm out of the running for this contest. I figured it'd be ok to upload this corrected version I put together about 16 hours after submitting my actual contest entry.
If you check the above linked-pic to the original submission, you'll find details on ALL the symbolism I could CRAM into this pic! (There is a LOT!) I MIGHT, in the future, upload the sketches and a couple other very rough mock-ups I did to start off trying to figure out what to do with my entry. I had a few ideas, but couldn't manifest them. Aphantasia can be a real bitch sometimes when you simply cannot visualize anything within the mind's eye.
I was really excited for this contest, and I'm disappointed in myself, because I couldn't advance in it. Sorry, just, the excitement is all drained from me as far as MY attempt goes. Especially since I only JUST saw the winners. Don't get me wrong, they all deserved to get in. There are some amazing entries in there. AND I AM happy for them, but I do need to acknowledge the disappointment I feel to myself. I'm discouraged, but it's not like I intend on giving up. Art and especially art CONTESTS are like that. If you give up, then it's really pointless. I'll keep trying to get better, maybe for the 20th anniversary of Code Geass, DA will have ANOTHER contest, and maybe I can advance in that one? lol
Even when you're down, gotta keep finding good thoughts, and reasons to laugh. lol No matter the pain.
