"You're easily fascinated by the smallest of things, you know?" Varian hummed, watching the Starshard.

It didn't respond to him, deeply enamoured by the flickering fireflies dancing around it. A fond smile tugged on Varian's lips, seeing how the Starshard glittered and glimmered itself, as if trying to communicate with the little bugs that shimmered too. He could sense its glee and joy radiating off of it, happy emotions waving through the air, brushing against his soul.

Varian laughed lightly as the Starshard twirled its hands and fingers around, causing some of the fireflies to fly higher, joining the stars in the sky. Varian pet Ruddiger, sighing softly as he looked up at the sky.

"Maybe that's why you chose me..."

Thought I’d make a cute little image of the two after what I drew before. So here we have Varian hanging out with the Starshard, showing him what fireflies are. Like anything else, its excited to see them.

If I had to sum up their relationship, it’s like adopted siblings, expect one of them is a really weird magical alien.
