Description Here is part 2 of the Aurora the Siren drawing I was cooking up in Paint for the last few weeks.

That's right, weeks.

I started off this drawing by saving it in JPEG format, and I used a Calligraphy Pen tool to draw the lines. More seasoned artists might know what that meant happened... Aliasing. LOTS of aliasing. In order to just fill in all these colors, I had to spend hours at a time scribbling in the lines. Quite frankly, she turned out amazing in spite of this! (Over all, I think she took 10-12 hours total to complete...) Lessons learned, I guess...

I downloaded Krita after completing this a couple of days ago. That should be telling.

As for the character herself, we now have a clearer picture of what she looks like. Dark, seaweed-green hair, now-established teal eyes, blue freckles, a purple shirt, and navy steel-toe shoes and a belt. (Oh, and a pen and notepad in her pockets, a reference to a moment from Shantae and the Return of Embra!)

As for who she is (if you haven't read my stories yet), she is a Siren cargo pilot and engineer who first appeared helping with the trade between Northern Light and Siren Island in Embra's Missing Memories - Part 2. She survived the sealing of the Squid Pit by the Quake Magic Guardian Genie many years ago... Something happened during this imprisonment that made her prefer to not be around her own kind. She also was formed by early interactions with humans, hating the idea of draining life force from them (preferring instead the lifeforce of the crabs and fish she tends to eat anyway). She doesn't have a lot of experience with human societies, and she treats the experience with a sense of child-like wonder. She also seems to obsess over learning about genie magic, and she knows a lot about it...

Aurora is a character of my own design, developed from the Shantae video game series, which I do not own. Rights to the Shantae series belong to creators Matt and Erin Bozon and developer WayForward.
