Description
Ruby eyes were locked with emerald, each staring down the other, stubbornly refusing to back down. The two rivals faced each other in the vast, empty meadow, tension pulsating throughout the otherwise still air. All was silent save for the light breeze that caused the grass to rustle and tugged playfully at the hedgehogs’ quills.

After several, long moments of stillness, Sonic relaxed his fighting stance, eyes narrowing suspiciously. He had been enjoying the warm, clear day before Shadow suddenly appeared. The azure furrie had expected a battle, but thus far his rival had not moved. Becoming impatient, he crossed his arms with an annoyed glare at the other.

“What do ya want, Shadow?” He demanded, tapping his right foot restlessly in the grass.

Shadow’s emotionless expression remained and he did not answer. Instead, he began a slow, steady walk toward the other hedgehog, who tensed and slipped back into his defensive position. Sonic growled in warning as the red-striped furrie halted mere inches from him, but his snarl was cut short when he noticed the look in Shadow’s eyes. The crimson orbs were full of doubt and longing, and Sonic could’ve sworn he detected a trace of fear.

He blinked, confused, and allowed his stance to slacken. “Shadow...?”

The ebony hedgehog sighed deeply through his nostrils, his warm breath tickling Sonic’s ears. The blue one felt his heart beat quicken as he suddenly noticed how close he was to his rival.

“I’ve been thinking a lot lately, faker,” Shadow began awkwardly, bringing the cobalt hedgehog’s attention back to him. ‘I can’t believe I’m actually doing this...’ He gathered up his courage before continuing. “Before I met you, my emotions were sealed safely inside of me where they could not do any harm. However...that is no longer the case...”

Sonic stared up at his counterpart in confusion, now utterly lost. ‘What’s he getting at...?’

Shadow took a deep breath, allowing a length of silence as he struggled to regain control of himself. The mere sight of the blue hedgehog was enough to drive him crazy. He moved closer, his nose almost touching the bewildered furrie’s. The faint blush that crossed the other’s face made his heart skip a beat. He had been dreading this conversation - this confession - but perhaps...‘Perhaps this will turn out in my favor...’

“What I am trying to say is...” The striped furrie trailed off, searching desperately for the right words although his eyes never broke contact with Sonic’s.

Frustration finally overwhelming him, Shadow did the only thing he could think of. He grabbed the azure hedgehog by the waist, ignoring the yelp of protest he received in response, and smashed his lips against the smaller furrie’s.

Sonic’s eyes grew ten times wider, his ears flattening against his skull in shock. He had expected literally anything but this. And yet, he was...enjoying it. The sensation of Shadow’s mouth on his, the feel of the black hedgehog’s strong arms encompassing his waist, it all felt so right. His eyelids slowly began to close, and he relaxed in Shadow’s grip, his fingers tangled in soft, white chest fur. He melted in the other’s embrace, his emotions flying in a thousand different directions.

Relief coursed through Shadow’s veins at the other’s response. He had expected, and prepared himself for, immediate rejection - even anger. He could hardly believe that the blue furrie who he had unwillingly fallen for was so accepting of his confession. It was the ultimate rarity that he showed affection - or any kind of emotion - for another, but Sonic was the exception. Though he had denied it for so long, he was captivated by the blue blur from the moment he laid eyes on him - his lithe yet toned form; those sparkling, emerald eyes; that cocky grin that was infuriating, alluring, and irresistibly adorable all at once... Perhaps it was not love at first sight - in fact, it began closer to lust - but over time it grew into something more.

Finally, he couldn’t hold back the urge any longer. He pressed in deeper, pulling Sonic as close to himself as was possible. His right hand tightened around the slender blue waist while the other found its place just below the sharp quills on the cobalt hedgehog’s back. He ran his tongue over soft, peach lips, respectfully asking for permission to enter. The other complied with a quiet moan, becoming completely lax in the ebony and crimson hedgehog’s hold. The darker furrie eagerly began exploring the moist cavern, soon finding the other’s tongue and challenging it to a war for dominance, which he swiftly won.

After several minutes, the two were forced to break the contact for need of air, both panting furiously. Sonic gazed up at his lover with curious eyes glittering with innocence. Shadow held his gaze, ruby orbs uncharacteristically soft.

“I love you, Sonic the Hedgehog,” he stated flatly, his deep voice vibrating with passion and desire.

The blush on Sonic’s face deepened even further to a violent red almost the color of Shadow’s stripes.

“Shadow...” He whispered, overwhelmed by the emotion and attention he was receiving from his rival. “...I love you, too.”

An unusual, warm smile spread across the ebony furrie’s muzzle at the return of his affection. He brought his and Sonic’s lips together in another, more passionate kiss, which was returned with equal ardor. Both were quickly lost in pure elation, swept up in the unpredictable storm that was Love.

Aaaanyways, yay my first real Sonadow pic!! And my first real kissing scene, too. I've drawn a Danny Phantom one before, but I reffed that. I did this one aaaaaaall by myself, tho I looked at about a thousand Sonadow kissing pics to see how everyone else drew their mouths. I'm not good at mouths when it comes to kissing D: And I'm not too proud of Sonic's hand, but hey, I've never drawn a hand in that position before so I didin't expect much.

I do hope you enjoyed the drawing and story ^.~ I'm thinking about making a comic out of this one day Mwahaha

Oh, and I didn't put a warning on this cuz I didn't really think it was necessary, but if you think there should be one, just say so and I shall edit it.
