Description So, I found this gem hiding out on my facebook page and I really can't remember who I drew this for or where the physical copy went. Which means I probably gave it away at some point. ANYWHO, I thought you kids might enjoy this. Sorry for the crap quality, like I said, it came off of my facebook. Enjoy!

GOSH! This is so pretty! Ā i looove the colors and the scale-like detail you did on her tail.Ā

Did you use water colors and markers for this?

Thank you! I used copic marker and white gel pen. I'm absolutely ghastly at water color painting.

wow! It's stunning! I assumed watercolors for the tail wince you created such a lovely mesh of colors, but Im even more impressed knowing you did that with copics!Ā

Aww, Thanks! I can do watercolor if I use the pencils, but not the paint alone. I guess I just wasn't that into it.Ā

I need something new to draw so I can try out my new markers again. What should I draw?

I kinda want to try my hand at the paint again, but it seems like such a process to get everything ready. In other words, I'm super lazy and also not very good at painting anyway.

OOhh! uguu you're asking me !? I'm not sure! Sticking with the fantasy/mermaid theme, perhaps you could do a fairy or some other pretty mythical creature?

Well, if you do try your hand at painting again, acrylics are usually the easiest/cheapest to work with. And they dry SUPER fast AND are water based. That's usually the way I go when painting. But now i'm in school again and won't have time for hardly anything but school, reading for school and work.Ā

I think I may have an idea for a drawing. Mmmmyesssss. Maybe maybe.Ā

OOh! I'll keep that in mind for sure!Ā

I'm most experienced with oil paints and i took quite a few classes on them, but they take so long to dry!! Dx

And yep. I'm back on my school routine now too, so art and everything else takes me longer to do. ho-hum~ :/

And woop! Sorry, haha, I'm not great at thinking up picture ideas! I'll be looking forward to your new work!

Oil paints are the best!! It's what I painted with when I took painting in college. You can blend better and the colors come out so vibrant and full of life. But they smell horrible! And the. Having to use turpentine and linseed oil just ads to the smell. Blech.Ā

I actually got a pretty good idea! I just need to work on how I want the layout and then really start sketching. Ā

HAhaha gosh the smell! I had to take public trans home after class and I can only imagine how the other people on must have hated me. Smelling like all them turps. I kinda grew to like the smells though. just a little.Ā

And excellent!Ā  Ā

That's alright. I suppose it was the legal way to get high. lol. I loved the smell in moderation, but too much of it gave me a horrible headache/migraine. Public trans? Like buses? I've never had to take public transportation outside of a school bus. And that was only until I got my drivers license and my car.Ā

LOL, huffing turpentine- I would not be surprised.Ā

For school now, I take the bus, subway, and the El (Which, if you're not sure what that is since some people seem to have no clue what Im referring to when i mention the El, it's basically and elevated subway.)

But you're lucky! Other than the occasional good people watching, public transport is a real drag. :/Ā

(Agh, sorry for crowding up this lovely deviation with my unrelated comments! Dx )

Yeah, we had people in my art class who use to huff it. They would show up all sorts of crazy.Ā

We only had a school bus where I grew up. I'm living in a city for the first time in my life and I'm quite glad I have my own car.Ā

It makes getting to work so much easier. And I walk to school since it's only a mile away. Elevated subway huh? Sounds neat.Ā

LOL, oh my! Now... I'm wondering if a few of my classmates would do the same thing... It would explain a lot.Ā

I don't drive, but I like to convince myself that I'm actually saving money, when in reality I'm probably not. Finding parking around my school would definitely be a pain though. I've been thinking about biking it there once the weather becomes nicer. It's not too far away, I just wouldn't want to be a sweaty tired mess by the time I got to class.Ā

Got some crazies in class, huh? There's always a few who abuse terp. Even when give warnings. Yeah, walking to school definitely makes me a little hot and sweaty. :/ especially since I have to walk up and down hills both ways and winter where I live just doesn't exist. But the physical benefits are worth it.

k00k3y In reply to csgraphics [2014-02-09 17:30:27 +0000 UTC]

HAhaha, ahh no winter doesnt sound like a bad deal at all. We've gotten quite a bit of snow here as of recently, and although most if it's melted, the remaining snow is brown and gross. And then there's the ice that I have to hobble across like a penguin or else I'll bust my butt. But you're right! If I did bike it, I think it would be nice to get a nice workout before class. :]

csgraphics In reply to k00k3y [2014-02-10 14:09:22 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's nice not having any snow, but we also don't get much rain. And when we do, locals don't know how to function. It's like they forget how to drive altogether. I grew up getting 4'-6' of snow in winter, so I feel your pain. Hopefully the brown nastiness melts away soon, along with the ice. If it weren't for all the hills and a lack of bike racks at school, I would switch the biking. But walking is just as nice. Gets your legs toned and just feels good.Ā

HAhaahaha, oh jeez! xDĀ

Yeah, more snow last night so it's going to take a few ore days, but soon... Soon I'll be free of brown slush and ice.
