I have decided to *try* to take on the 100 Themes Challenge([link] ).This is 1. Introduction.
Ponyta is my first Pokemon, and I remember its beautiful ember mane upon that Pokemon card, its shining eyes glowing like the dark of the night, that soulful stare that facinated me as a child.
Ponyta has led me into this magnificent world of Pokemon, where I have found a home. Here in the Pokemon lands I have found my best friends, 'real' and 'imaginary', online and offline...all of whom I cherish for their insight into those legends we share, those tales that hold our facination, even as the cruel years fly past.
Mew represents that world itself: because Mew, to me, is the Beginning: the legend that dwells in the mystical Tree of Beginning, as shown in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew: which is the most influential movie I've ever watched.
Mew, to me, is the greatest and first Legendary ever: its soul is pure and its imagination flies beyond the sky and into realms that exist Elsewhere.
This is the work that was started weeks before th Portals ([link] and [link] ) yet was finished after them all.
This is the grand vision I had a while back, when I was dreaming about the other World...
It mayn't seem as nice as I had wished, but it's something from the Soul.
Please comment, because I'll love to hear from you. I will greatly appreciate criticism, because improvement is something I look forward to.

I love how you put such deep meaning into all of your pictures! And they're very beautiful pictures, at that.
I absolutely love the frame for the "portal," and also the spiraling trail coming off of Mew's tail. The detail in both of them is fantastic!
I think that the anatomy of Ponyta might be a little off in terms of the head shape and legs, but other than that it's very good as usual. I also really love it's eyes!
Overall, a great piece with a wonderful meaning. I can really see in this one how you combine both markers and colored pencils. I look forward to seeing more from you!

The frame did take quite a while. It took more time than other parts of the picture, and it looked a little odd at first...

This picture is so amazing! All teh colors and details are just right in all the right spots! For a little bit of criticism though, Ponyta's front leg looks a little too long and straight, but its not that noticeable. I love how you described these pokemon - through your own eyes - and showed it to us in a new way. I love the way you view things and I'm so glad you describe them. The colors in the background are also a nice touch and compliment the reds yellows and oranges in Ponyta's mane, while the background in the mirror offsets from the Mew, causing him/her to stand out. All in all, this picture is truly amazing and near-perfect, as usual from you.

wow that is REALLY nice to look at. im a huge pokemon fan too and i agree, the ponyta card had me fascinated too when i was little. i kind of looked like

The 100 themes challenge is a challenge an artist gives to enself (as far as I know...) there are different versions of the themes all over deviantArt. A lot of people seem to be taking it, so i though it'd be interesting to try. ^^

when you say themes... im lost >:/ (what is a theme? or better question, how do you draw a theme? <:/ )

The themes are about one word long each...such as 'Memory','Tower',etc...
And then the artist thinks about the word and draws something that they think of. Such as, drawing someone remembering something for 'memory'.

I don't know what to say.
This picture is quite moving with the words, I now think of Mew and Ponyta greater than before.
I must say, this picture is truly amazing. All the effects and shading, all done traditionally.
