Description
My rendition of an alternative version of the Pyro class from Team Fortress 2, replacing the mid-20th century setting with a modern one, and the Rockwell-esque painterly style with one more akin to a contemporary graphic novel."Toasty!"
At first glance, the ironically cool-headed Pyro appears as your average middle-aged, cigar-chomping, barbecue-loving Arizonian- few would assume his favorite subject for said barbecue is people. He's not quite insane, so much as he enjoys his job a bit too much, and seems calm- often smug- even while thoroughly toasting his foes.
The main bit of inspiration for a Pyro redesign was the Terran Firebat from Starcraft (specifically in his speaking mannerisms), matched with that sort of cool-headed badass archetype seen in action movies. I also kinda wanted to throw in a bit of an "everyman" feel into him, with his slightly-overweight frame, lack of a uniform, and apparently home-crafted weapon.
