Description
In the 1970s,a company called Fundimensions sold "Gigantics",a series of ready-to-assemble model kits of scenarios straight out of a sci-fi B-movie....urban landscapes ravaged by mammoth insects. There were four in all,a huge tarantula wrecking a power station,a colossal praying mantis laying waste to a train depot,a gigantic wasp destroying an amusement park and a giant scorpion rampaging down a city street. The box art for these was not too unlike movie posters of that genre. About 20 years ago, another company issued new versions of these.Anyway, they inspired this. I chose this particular species of bug because I wanted one that sprayed poison from its body.

New versions of the four originals mightΒ be available today. I haven't been in a model or hobby shop in years,so I can't confirm that.

They were reissued, but that was years ago.

As far as bugs go, bombardier beetles are badass
