My entry for and its Hoarding contest.

I've actually explored this territory before...some years ago,I did a septet of works depicting the Seven Deadly Sins,one of which is,of course,Avarice. But rather than depict someone greedily hoarding a large collection of something,I decided to go with just one item.
This work is a variation on that piece,making the subject look even more potentially menacing to anyone who might even consider touching his prized possession,whatever it is. Putting him in a setting that resembles squalor suggests that nothing else in the world matters to him save his selfish acquisition. Since the announcement for this contest included a reference to the dragons of mythology,and how many single-mindedly guard treasure hordes they can never enjoy,a dragon had to go in the image somewhere.
