Before TV cameras and a massive crowd... as well as the horrified eyes of young Brian Kinney AKA Altar Boy... his mentor Jeremiah Parrish AKA the masked vigilante known as the Confessor has not only knowingly revealed his true nature, as that of a vampire, but has just given his life to expose a global threat. Dying from the bolt fired by a wooden-stake-cannon, he uses his last moments to seize the weapon and fire at the Mayor of Astro City...or rather, a shape-shifting alien who has been impersonating him for the last few months, turning the public against its superhuman protectors. And thus, the intergalactic menace known as the Enelsians is revealed.
