Description
Having been raised by a New England mother, mince pie was a major part of our holiday celebrations ( Thanksgiving and Christmas ); as a child, I wouldn't touch them, nor pumpkin pies neither. Eventually, I'd give both a try, to discover I liked the taste of both.
Unfortunately, it's been a good many years since I've had mince pie. For some reason, all our local grocery stores stopped carrying them, even the frozen variety. This picture was born out of that desire.
