Description
It's actually been a while since I've done a movie poster...this was inspired by the lead article in MAD magazine #227 (Dec. 1981)...Commenting on the then-popular slasher-movie trend, writer Lou Silverstone and artist Jack Davis created Arbor Day,an original (non-parody) movie stuffed to bursting with all the archetypes of the genre. It included commentary by its creator, who was clearly trying to apply merit to his slapdash creation.Related content

Yep, even today allot of modern "horror" movies are splatter trash.

Actually,I think the real problem is lack of originality...look how many remakes we've gotten in the past few years.
Thanks for the !

That too, like most Hollywood is as intellectually bankrupt as much the British and Russian film industries became financially destroyed by Thatcher austerity measures and the collapse of the Soviet Empire.

Right up there with Halloween, My Bloody Valentine, Don't Open Till Christmas, April Fools' Day...
Makes you wonder what a Labor Day-related movie looks like.

In the article, the filmmaker chose this title because, according to him,all the good holidays had been taken.
