Description
In the second issue of Before Watchmen--Minutemen...which was part of a comic book mini-series showing what took place in the lives of the characters of Alan Moore's and Dave Gibbon's Watchmen, prior to the events of that story...we saw the open auditions for those wishing to become members of the Minutemen, the 1940s-era band of costumed heroes. This scene was repeated in the single issue of Before Watchmen--Dollar Bill. Unfortunately, not all the wannabe superheroes had what it took. Here,I'm envisioning those not chosen deciding not to let their rejection stop them, but rather banding together to form their own group...like the Legion Of Substitute Heroes.
For those curious about their identities (not all were given names in the story,so bear with me),starting on the left we have Liberty Lassy,The Iron Lid,unnamed,The Slut,The Frogman (crouching down) and the last three are also unidentified.
There was another,a guy with a bucket on his head, who called himself "Hank"...he also scrawled it on his raggy t-shirt...he's not here because I figure even theseΒ guys have some standards!
