Description CD package made based on an idea for a band name my friend came up with. He wanted quasars. I wanted Russian Constructivism. It turned out to be clean pop art take on Russian Constructivism. Either way, I like the play-on-words of the band name. And even if it doesn't have quasars, at least there's a starfield.

Great! How does the cover work, is it printed on plastic, or is it paper glued onto it?

Is there a band (and music) behind this? The desicription read like your friend came up with a name and you did a fake album.Which would be cool, but looks a bit like overkill, considering the complexity of this case

I have THE best name for a post-rock band flying around in my head for years now, and would love to design an album. all i am missing is the actual band..!

There's a square of mylar in between where the card stock of the cover is doubled over, and the satellite image is just more card stock glued to the plastic.

You're right, my friend came up with a name that I used to make a fake album, but I only did it because we had a class assignment to design a cd cover for a real or made-up band. It worked out well that I already had a name I liked. My other friend still wants to use the name and logo if he can ever get some people together to play gigs with him.

Go ahead and design an album! Band or not, it'd be fun and great for your portfolio!

Oh, very cool. I think the term complex simplicity would apply here. :3
