It's funny how somehow the design of such a hateful creature is...kind of cute, in a...random way. Probably because it's mostly rounded. Like how R2-D2 or a Tribble manages to be 'cute' for no real reason.

The approach of using a highly detailed painting under simple illustration/line-art is wonderful... and is something I've been doing for awhile. Honestly, I hope you find yourself less critical of the style than your description implies, because there aren't very many people mixing up this unique meeting of two mediums. I think it's a very successful piece.
I noticed in another piece of yours that you were unhappy with handling the tweed. Definitely can't blame you---I ran into the very same issues. As it turns out, I happened upon a brush that allows to draw the pattern as you would a straight line. A little time consuming, but stellar results. Apart from the arm bend, I think what you did on this one is actually very cool.

Your portrayal of Matt Smith is spot on. And the coloring/textures! Eeee! Perfection. I don't even care about the minor physical mistakes of the Dalek. It can be one of the ones in the Asylum.
