I heard a song earlier tonight that reminded me a lot of Kataang (you know you're an Avatard when you associate every song you hear with something from Avatar. I even mentally turned "Shut Up and Drive" into an Appa tribute. o__O YEAH.)So I got the strong urge to draw some Kataang fanart, but then I remembered my last attempt at Kataang (which was NOT pleasant), and thought, before I do any character interaction, I should probably practice drawing humans some more (because I still stink at it, and I've never drawn either Katara or Aang before.)
So I put that song on loop for two hours and drew this. :3
It kind of makes me sad that I didn't draw much of the Gaang before Season Three was almost on top of us. I never got a chance to draw Katara with her hair loopies (and the Katara penguin doesn't count.) I suppose I could draw pre-S3 Katara, but all the cool kids are drawing her with Ursa hair these days, so I will too. XD
Also, I apologize for throwing the old "Generic Katara Pose" at you. Look! She's BENDING WATER! O: Who'da thunk it?
I tried to make it a little different by making the water "whips" red, but once I did that I knew I'd have to make yet another orange sunset glowy background.
Dang it! I blame that on Dongbu Feng trivia! CURSE YOU, ORANGE!!! O:<
But anyway, enjoy my rushed Katara practice. xD
(I'll have to draw the bottom half of her some other time. xP)
Katara belongs to Mike, Bryan and Nick.
(FUN FACT: When I was coloring the water whips, the only thing I could think about was orange Kool-Aid. It was very distracting.)

And if i was mistaken in the choice of words then just to make it clear, I mean how you made some places darker on it depending on the light

She's bending a Red Chuchu from The Legend of Zelda! D: Quick, Katara! Bottle the red Chuchu jelly to replenish your hearts!
I personally don't see anything wrong with her face (on account your style adapts to humans in its own special way, much like mine. XD), but her hands are a little...longish. Better than the chubby hands I draw, but yeah, a little lengthy on the fingers and palms there, Cubie. XP
But overall, this is a great picture. Has sort of a Final Fantasy feeling (and then Katara Sends all the unsent souls of a destroyed village...) mixed in with Avatar, which is always good.

I learned that you couldn't trust Purple Chuchus the hard way. I made Link eat the weirdest things in that game. Chuchu jelly and bee larva. The gulp and the face Link made after eating a bottle of bee larva was so hilarious. XD
Would Waterbending work on Chuchus? Because that'd be a handy thing for Link to learn.

Yeah, I got low on health in that.. pit of trials, or whatever it's called, so I resorted to killing Purple Chuchus and draining them of their precious jelly. I gained health until the second last one, which sent me down to a quarter of a heart. Freakin' Chuchus. T_T
Link + any type of bending = awesome to the max.

Well, so do I. But I'm forcing myself to try harder than just faces seen by anime drawers and it is driving me insane...because I tried to draw my human form, minus the ugliness. XD

I'm near to ripping my hair out...I'm okay with body proportion...but the head OH, the head. I drew a couple faces a little bit ago, maybe an hour, and I'm sure that the next time I go look at them, I will burst up laughing because they look soo stupid.
