Description trying to learn different, more common beading methods that what I did with animals up to now. this pic, as the title might imply is what came of my first try using peyote stitch. anyways, changing from wire to thread is incredible - like, uh... can't think of an axample... like changing from an automatic car to one where you actually have to switch the gears, except, well.... that example sucks.
and I have one word for you: timeconsuming. (which is probably written in two words, but what do I care)

but the design was done by me. not all too bad for a first, I guess.

uh - brilliant idea? lol... I simply wanted to find a way to attach the thing I'd made to a necklace or something... all very impromptu. but wow, I'm glad you like it!
sure, play with my idea all you want to. I'm flattered. the knot I attached the bead loop to the leather is called a palsteg, a sailor's knot. if you don't know it yet, I'm sure they're tutorials online on how to make it. I find it really handy.

hahaha don't be so surprised if i get enough time to play with the idea i will. just started on a new bra top and have another 5 projects in the make (at least 3 30+hour+ ones... what am i doing to myself!? LOL)and i have another 25 ideas written down.... i doubt even a holiday would give me sufficient time i would like to learn the knot though....

I have the description for the knot somewhere... I'll look for it and scan it for you, if you want to.
oooooh time-consuming projects!!! can't wait to see them! unfortunatly, I suppose I will have to wait anyway. ah well.

Love the colours, nice and bold, which I like Have you tried using a beading loom?

cuddlefactor In reply to kaydowd [2008-07-17 12:41:12 +0000 UTC]

I used to do beading only on the loom. got boring after a while, and the finished pieces only piled up in my room, so I transferred to bead animals. now that I'm pretty good with those, I want to go back to bead-and thread. there are tons of techniques I've never even known of until I discovered the awesome bead artists here on dA.
thanks for the visit!

*looks up from the dubious remains of what was on the photo* you - uh - what? I um - am right now in the act of opening it all up again. I thought, I'd never wear it anyways, so I might as well reuse the beads... but uh - if you want to, I could remake it.
