A brony, Brendan Oliver Nyman, has written a letter to Hasbro about his fury towards their decision to air the second half of Season 5 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on September 12.According to Brendan, this is insensitive towards a certain conflict that took place near this time, the effects of which we still feel today.
Do you agree? Is it insensitive for My Little Pony to return to screens on September 12?

I know it's a joke, but this is a real problem. Β We live in a "wag the dog" society where, even if one person has a ridiculous complaint, it has to be handled as if the entire universe will fall apart if no one gives in to the complaint. Β It's getting really obnoxious and it turns people off, to the point that they won't even bother to pay attention if someone has a real complaint about a real issue.

This is going off of the Athenian Calendar, going off of the Spartan calendar the date would have been August 12th instead. It's also worth noting that both August and September the 12th dates are for a Julian calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar. This would move the time back about 8 days to August and September the 4th in each moth for the spartan and Athenian calendars respectively.

Half the intended audience for MLP wasn't even born when the 9/11 attacks took place. (let that sink in a moment, then go and get yourself a glass of warm milk, and maybe some geritol ) It's hardly insensitive.Β What happened then was a tragedy, the likes of which will have effects long into the future, but clinging to it does no one any good. Not the victims, not the survivors. It's like picking at a wound and wondering why it doesn't heal.

Some people are overly sensitive to things, honestly. 9/11 was no worse then numerous historical massacres and tragedies that we still continue on our normal lives through.
We simply can not let this day become some kind of sacred "Nothing can ever happen except morning" kind of day, let alone let it dominate an entire week, or god forbid an entire month.

I feel that the 9/11 attack was terrible as the next person but a lot of good things have happen on Sept 11 and a lot of good things will continue to happen on Sept 11 long after the war is over.. As far as we know the war may end on that day then which do you do? Remember the good times or the bad ones?.. The main thing is to not forgot there will be good times as well as bad times and just hope that sooner or later it will be over soon...
