A brony, Brendan Oliver Nyman, has written a letter to Hasbro about his fury towards their decision to air the second half of Season 5 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on September 12.According to Brendan, this is insensitive towards a certain conflict that took place near this time, the effects of which we still feel today.
Do you agree? Is it insensitive for My Little Pony to return to screens on September 12?

Is Brendan Greek or Persian? Is that why he is so upset? Or is he a die-hard history major?
I'd love for Brendan to take the time and explain to us why he is so loyal to this date on a personal scale. I found the letter to be very degrading and unprofessional, and I wish he had written it differently. Instead of outright attacking them as he did, perhaps a more polite tone should have been used:
"Dear Hasbro/ DHX Media/ Discovery Family,
It has come to my attention that you will be releasing the second half of My Little Pony season five on television on September twelve. I feel it is insensitive to some viewers, including myself, because this date commemorates and honors the Battle of the Marathon in 490 B.C., where thousands of Persians, Athenians and Plataeans perished. I understand many years have passed since the event, but if I may ask, please move the release date to another day so not to offend any other viewers. I and others would greatly appreciate it.

What this guy wrote there has no logical sense at all. It's all BULL**** However, the date that conmemorate the Battle of Marathon is interesting, because i saw the movie, 300:Rise Of An Empire. I have no idea of that date, its well remembered in all Greece.
I have something better to propose: let's declare October 10, 2015, as the Cutie Mark Crusaders Day, to celebrate the achievements of Scootaloo; Sweetie Belle; and Applebloom, for earning their Cutie Marks!! Now that's something to remember.

While I'm not into MLP all that much, I will say that Hasbro shouldn't be shamed for airing their show the day after 9/11. No show or movie should be. Because that's like getting mad at people who do something fun or happy the next day. Observe a moment of silence on their day and think of those lives but I bet those people that died wouldn't want your whole life to be a constant standstill to only think about them. September 12th is the day after 9/11. It has no special value other than being the time to understand that life is moving on, that it's another day and that's a wonderful thing. I say let Hasbro play their season. Because September 12th is not 9/11.

It has to do with the fact that Hasbro has chosen a date, which thousands of people had died on, and I believe that it was unintentional. Additionally this date is what I'm sure will, or would anger many fans, and people in Europe, Greece, and other countries in the area.
