This was in Honor of Hiroshi Yamauchi who passed away recently.When I was a kid my first game was Super Mario World. I honestly never experienced anything like it! Mario really spoke to me in a way that I still dont understand to this day, but it was the manual the game came with that got me excited to draw. All the drawings of Mario and the Villains that made up this exciting world really made me want to draw constantly! I owe a lot to Nintendo and it's president Hiroshi Yamauchi! Thank You for Mario!

Mario & Nintendo stuff encourged me to draw to. (I even used to draw my own li'l level maps, and such like the ones you see in game magazines, and make-up my own levels for Mario, or Zelda.) So it's nice to see I'm not the only one.
Great take on this classic game BTW. The blurring of the rolling barrel is a nice touch, and I like how cartoony they look.

I love making everything super Cartoony haha. Its crazy to think I've been a fan of the franchise since 94, I really feel I'd be nowhere without Mario. I never tried making level maps... I should try that.

Yeah, I remember I used to even make my own islands, and stuff like the ones in on the map screen in "Super Mario World."

I may draw something from my two favorite Mario games as a kid: Super Mario World and Mario RPG. I seriously owe a lot to the game that kept me drawing as a kid haha.
