About the message:
People don't seem to understand that when I say I'm pro-choice, I'm not "pro-abortion." I don't believe that every pregnancy, intended or unintended, should end with an abortion. I don't advocate abortion as the "best" or the "only" choice. I don't look down on women who choose adoption or motherhood. I simply believe that abortion should be an option available for women facing an unwanted pregnancy.

I personally don't agree with abortion and I would never have one regardless of the circumstances, but I can understand WHY someone would feel the need for one. I can also never really know what it's like to be in that position until, God forbid, I ever am. So I do feel like people shouldn't be so judgemental towards someone like that when they themselves don't know what it's like. Nice stamp.

Not quite sure what to proclaim myself. I am in between. I think abortion in general is wrong, but there are exceptions to when it is ok. depends on the circumstances.

For me if the girl was raped or havin the baby would put the mother's health at risk then sure have an abortion. BUT, if it is because she cannot financially afford to care for the kid, she should put it up for addoption. If it is she doesn't feel emotionally ready, well... parents rarely are. becoming a parent is scary. but its her AND THE FATHER'S responsibility to give the child the best life possible. I think people today are too willing to ditch their responsibilities and abortion is one way. But my main arguement is THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES. I just fear that abortion will become "No Big Deal". because it is. It is ending a Potential LIFE. I just want there to be some discretion for when it is done.

Yes, word. I'm getting sick and tired of people calling it pro-abortion. If I was really pro-abortion, you'd see me protesting outside of hospitals and shouting at women who go to deliver their babies. It's called pro-choice for a reason.

I've never been for abortion, and never will be, but that also doesn't mean I'm for women having their choices restricted. It's weird to some people I guess. They hear that you don't suppot abortion and they automatically think that you are calling all those who do murderers. It's the same thing when you tell people that you believe women should have the freedom to choose. They turn around and get on your back for supposedly condoning(sp?) their "bad" behavior.
Anyway I think this is something that needed to be heard.

Abortion is definitely a difficult topic. Pro-life doesn't mean that all of a sudden you think terrible things of this and pro-choice doesn't mean you suddenly think no matter what this is okay. "Pro-life" is a shitty way to put it... We're all pro-life. "Pro-choice" isn't all that nice either. Pro-life and pro-choice aren't polar opposite ways of thinks. Pro-choice isn't pro-abortion even though pro-life is anti-abortion. (I'm blabbing, sorry.)

People tend to freak when I say that I'm pro-choice, as well. I've been trying to think of something to say to them to [try to] make them realize that I'm not a baby-killing murderpsycho.

No kidding. They closed the Pro-Choice center around here because everyone only though that place dealt with abortions, but in reality it's illegal to have an abortion where we live, and that center only taught about safe-sex and birth control.

Not really. I'm not pro-abortion, so I feel it being illegal is just fine. I'm a mother of two already, and I don't feel anyone has the right to take a life away.
I stop associating with one girl because she got an abortion in Canada so the baby wouldn't ruin her "beautiful body". So vain, it was just grotesque.
People can't use it responsibly, so it isn't even an option. I understand that if the child would end your own life, it would be scary, and a hard choice, or if people were the victims of rape, but for such a reason as ruining your own beautiful body? No. The option shouldn't even be there for people as irresponsible for their own actions like that. Don't want babies? Don't have sex, it's that simple.
A mother of two, and miscarriages of 5, I feel strongly about this.
Nothing is stupid, except maybe someone to judge things so quickly.
