It kinda seems he's growing a Bat Tail, since bats largely have one, but all I see is a wing membrane across the legs.

There is a tail growing there, and you can kinda see it at the tip. Bat membranes give me a bit of trouble and I'm trying to work on it.

Awesome. Why didn't the Man-Bat from the Batman comics/cartoons have him with a long Bat Tail?

Well bats have a huge variety of tails/tail lengths. Maybe the DNA he used for his serum was from one of the tailless species?

It could've, but nothing else different seem to show on anywhere else on his body. (nose, ears, body, etc.)
Maybe Hollywood has gone Cauldal-phobic, I guess.

I know. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with Tails? I mean, Wings are cool, but Tails are also nifty and have a sense of flow & fluidity to them, too. Not to mention a heck of a lot of personality.
