Who is 12 years old today! 12 years! I mean what!?

I've actually been kinda struggling with art for a quite a long while now. I still doodle every day, but I feel like I'm going through some kind of phase of being lost and trying to find my artistry and style again - and the enjoyment of making art as well. I'm generally not very happy with the stuff I make, but there's nothing really wrong with it either - at least nothing that I could pinpoint as the issue. I think I need to push myself to find my touch again...

So with this piece I tried to get back to my roots, back to the times I was bursting with inspiration and was having so much fun drawing my new characters for the first times - over a decade ago. I spent a ridiculous amount of time just browsing my old artwork (which I still love and adore to this day) and decided to unlearn some things...
Rody's design has kinda changed a little throughout the years so I went back to his original ref, which still kinda feels the most like him and decided to try and draw the most true and authentic him - I've already drawn the perfect human Rody, so it's a high time I give his very original design a try. Might still go back for more tweaks but so far so good...

Luckily some things haven't changed a bit in these 12 years.
I'm still madly in love with my cinnamonbun (and the rest of the gang too) and drawing Rody is still such a joy and pleasure!
