The other theme for this month over at is Celebration of the Dead. I decided to go dark with this one. As a commanding officer, Lily has had to tell many parents their children wouldn't be coming home. Usually she wouldn't do it in person, but occasionally, she would.More Mountain Divide:

Anyway, I love the take you took on the theme. I will be honest. When I did set up that theme, I never thought that I would see someone submit something like this. This I dare say was a pleasant surprise. It's have the emotions to it, but it's also truly a celebration for the dead.
And am I correct in thinking that when Lily informs the parents in person, it's usually because it was someone more special who passed?

Yeah this scene would be incredibly rare since lily is usually stationed over seas. A metal of honor recipient or something like that.
